I just went from 12/22 to 1/3 today as well. And you have awesome stats so hopefully this is good movement for usjetissent wrote:+146nyc wrote:Updated to UCR 1/3/2012 today! Submitted in September and had my first UCR 11/28.
But I went from 12/22-1/3. My UChi and Upenn status checkers have been moving exactly in tandem, weird.

In re: the 1 v. 2 updates debate. I thought Penn was one of the schools where your app is read twice. I just assumed the two UR dates were two members reading/commenting on it. It is possible that people with one update just happened to have their file reviewed by two committee members on the same day. I don't think it has anything to do with the final verdict on the app.

For those of you waiting on Penn (I'm in the same boat), what makes you want Penn more than the other schools to which you applied/have been accepted?
I'm trying to narrow down which schools I should visit.
Thanks!

Joining the group with a 2nd UR status.
How have most of the decisions been going out thus far?

Calls. Last year they were on Fridays, and that was true of at least the first round of RDs this year.thelawschoolproject wrote:Joining the group with a 2nd UR status.

Thanks! Any chance they have an ASW worth trying to get into early like with Mich and GULC?

Nope, Penn's ASW is one of the one username/password for everyone deals that you get in an email after you get in.thelawschoolproject wrote:Nelson wrote: Calls. Last year they were on Fridays, and that was true of at least the first round of RDs this year.

Just went under review 1/03. I believe this is my first update since 11/10 complete. However, I'm not positive.

Re: Penn c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Here is my wild speculation:
It seems like they have split a great many of us in groups: a UR 12/19, a UR 12/22 batch and a UR 1/03 batch (that is the second UR batch for many 12/22ers). Perhaps one batch falls in the stronger category and one in a weaker category.
I'm in the UR 12/19 and no second UR date batch, which I think is the weaker batch because maybe we are unofficially "on hold" while they have given 1/03 people the bump to the next level.
I'm a guy though so I'm always splitting everyone into strong and weak categories. And I love to bash myself so I put myself in the weak group. I know many will disagree with this, so let me repeat, this is wild speculation.

Yes. Also, there was a 12/21 batch, which seemed to be the second one for many 12/19ers. Seemed like a likely YP group.jpal13 wrote:Here is my wild speculation:

To contribute to the wild speculation, I'll add that your theory is supported by the fact that I have a 12/19 update with no 1/3 update, and I'd consider myself a weak candidate. Though I'm more of a weird candidate than traditionally weak one.jpal13 wrote:Here is my wild speculation:

+1, 12/21 as second update, I consider myself as a likely YP.addy11 wrote:Yes. Also, there was a 12/21 batch, which seemed to be the second one for many 12/19ers. Seemed like a likely YP group.jpal13 wrote:Here is my wild speculation:
