For those you who are 1/12 to 1/30 or 1/31, do you think we will hear as early as today or is it more probable that we would hear on Friday? I have a feeling it is more likely the latter . . .

I updated to 1/24 last Tuesday and haven't heard yet, so if they continue to follow the pattern (2nd update-->decision the following week) you may not hear this week, but maybe next.

But some people who updated on the same date as you did hear that week, correct?

Either way, I'm fine not hearing anything if its not an acceptance anyway...

If I recall correctly, no one who updated 1/24 or 1/25 heard back last week. But I could be wrong.

Reading through last years stuff didnt show many either, though I remain optimistic because the ad hoc hold thread with all of the >10 people on it seemed to mostly get good results.
I got a hold email on 1/18, and I believe one other person mentioned they did as well ITT.

I just saw this but I got a hold letter on 1/18. I was assuming it was the same as a WL for a while (even though I realized others got WLs) but then they never updated to Decision Sent/Render or whatever like other WL-ers.

If any other held people see this, are you writing an addition two page essay on the topic of your choice? I am but it seems... broad.
I treated it like an LOCI. I told them about a few things on my resume that have changed since I applied (promotion at work, etc.), and I talked about why I want to go to Penn.

Anyone still stuck on 1/12? I didn't keep track of the status checker and not sure if it is my first or second review. But I have been trapped on 1/12 for at least two weeks.

Same. I'm thinking we're WLs or dings, but maybe they're just waiting till the cycle is over to decide on our fates.

Well, I wouldn't go that far (not yet at least). I think there have been plenty of people who have had a couple of weeks between UCR 1 and 2... I think we're still within the range of what's normal.

i'm still stuck on first UCR at 12/21
what does that meeeean?! my numbers are definitely not good enough for Penn but you'd think that they would just move me through faster and auto-reject me instead of making me wait so long JUST to get a second person to look at it before they ultimately decide to say no

Either it's a good sign or not. I was UCR at 12/19... then went UCR 1/30... that could be a kiss of death for me, making me walk the plank before you.

Missed a call from a 215 area code. (I seriously considering answering it in front of my students, but thought better of it.) Does anyone know if this is good news?

Never mind, just checked my voicemail: IN!! :D I was a 1/12 -> 1/30.

That depends, how many friends/family members/debt collectors do you have in Philly?

Congratulations! I'm still 1/30 with no news...

Please Penn, let me in!
