So what was the consensus on LOCIs for Held people? Are we sending one in?

I'm on Reserve - much to my surprise - but am retaking the LSAT in June (primarily for the 2012-2013 cycle). Should I write a LOCI asking Columbia to re-evaluate my application only after receiving my June LSAT score?

I got held on Monday. How long are LOCI's supposed to be? And do you normally submit them as a word doc and ask them to attach them to your file or structure it as an email to the dean/admissions committee? Thanks

When I sent one to Mich I did both. Brief email addressed to the admissions dean with the document pasted below and attached as a word doc. (some schools have explicitly said they will not open attachments).

It was 3 paragraphs less/than a full page single spaced. My basic structure was paragraph 1: thanks for reviewing my app etc. Para 2: Why I like the school. Para 3: Why the school should like me.

Certainly not the only option but it worked for Mich. Good luck!

Why what happened? They didn't send you a letter or they didn't give you enough scholly?

I won't be there either--they gave me nothing. haha

"I am sorry to inform you that we are unable to offer you scholarship funds; we are simply not able to offer a scholarship to every deserving candidate."

There is something incredibly insulting about an email that simultaneously suggests you are qualified for a scholarship and informs you that you won't receive one. lol

I wouldn't have expected anything if they hadn't sent an email letting us know when scholarship info was coming. At least GT only sends it to the people who are (hopefully?) getting something haha. Anywho, it would've taken a whole bunch of money for me to move to the 'second' city. :) Here's to NYU or CU in the fall! :)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
