idk, the people in the harvard thread get pretty freaking maudlin.

Yeah but people who have a legit shot at Harvard but don't get in will be fine in the end no matter what. People who have a legit shot at Columbia but don't get in will have to settle for TTT. It's pretty much get in or die in this thread.

poe wrote:Yeah, I was reserved yesterday. Pretty disappointing - I was expecting a hold.

Damn bro, sorry to hear that. Can you think of a reason why they reserved you though? It seems REALLY odd.

All I can think of is the fact that I have my multiple scores. I know people say it doesn't matter, but my cycle is starting to make me think otherwise.

Harvard vs. Columbia is NOT, in any way shape or form, a done deal. There are plenty of reasons to pick Columbia over Harvard, especially if you get more money from CLS.

How likely is it to get money at CLS? I tend to assume that Columbia is more expensive just because of the col and HLS's generous need based aid

Go to LSN and check out some example offers. It should give you a very rough idea of what stats tend to get $.

It's all subjective and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Mine, Harvard or Yale > Columbia+$. Law school is a financial investment, but an academic one as well and allotted prestige magnified with superb academic opportunities as well as employment prospects bodes in favor of HLS or YLS...just seems like the right path for myself. To each their own.

Double bump. I'm wondering what this looks like now.

I'm having trouble seeing any rhyme or reason to any of this.

you're right, NYU, Chicago, Michigan, Penn, etc. are all super TTT...

Can't tell how serious WhiteGuy is, if at all...

Particularly within CCN, there doesn't seem to be any clear-cut "best" option and it really just comes down to individual preference. I think the only definitive advantage that Columbia has over the other two is lay prestige (which, again, is valued differently by different people). Within many academic/intellectual circles, UChicago is probably held in higher esteem than Columbia.

Change that to mid-november and you've got me. I'm really curious to know their thought process here, but hey what are you gonna do?

It doesn't look like the spreadsheet is editable, so no one can have updated it.

You can't update old entries though, so some people who were "no-holds" before have been held (I'm one of them). Still, doesn't seem like there's any pattern at all to this process thus far.

Yeah I wasn't being serious at all lol...

And I agree with the above.

Have heard nothing. File was complete 10/24. High numbers but weak softs...

I've only been a lurker on here, but this cycle and wait is killing me.

Last year there was a lull until effectively the middle of next week.

Sorry, I forget that sometimes. But huh. You're higher than me on both counts, so I can't imagine you're not qualified (I got in during the first big wave of RD applicants)...

Hi everyone...first post  I've been WLed at Columbia and it's my first choice. I've sent in an LOCi, but as for an updated transcript, would you guys recommend my giving it to them in person since I'm in NYC? (I know that I'll probably have to go through a secretary, but still) Will it show that I am really interested, or will it annoy them? Or will it not make a difference? Might it be safer to send it via e-mail so that I know someone received it?

Thanks guys :)
