It is starting to get so late that I feel like I won't have a decision before deadlines at other places.

It's February.

lol

Haha I know. But places have early April deadlines. I just worry that decisions and financial information will not be delivered before then.

Isn't that just Chicago? That's still a month and a half away.

Can anyone shed light on how Columbia financial aid offers come? If there was nothing in my acceptance letter, does that mean I missed our on merit scholarships?

Appreciate any insight.

They release non-named scholarship offers in April. You have to submit FAFSA, Need Access, the Financial Aid Questionnaire, your parent's tax forms, and your tax forms (or a letter of explanation if you are not filing) to be eligible. Check LSN for more info on scholarship amounts.

Wait is that after the seat deadlines for CLS/NYU? that seems weird/wrong.

No, it isn't. Seat deadline for NYU is May 4, although they ask you to accept/reject your scholarship offer by early April (you can request to extend this deadline). I imagine Columbia's deadline is similar.

ETA: Yes, CLS' is May 1

NP! My guess is that you may have been confusing it with Chicago since they have an earlier seat deadline.

I'm in the Midwest. I fell like if it were sent on the 14th, it would have gotten here by now.

Do you mind sharing some numbers? And post-mark/letter dates?

Thanks! I'm a 171/3.95+, so I was honestly surprised to get into Columbia given their LSAT focus. As for post-mark date, I don't actually know, amusingly enough. I'm in undergrad, and for some reason, I put my home address down for Columbia as my mailing address. My parents actually called me telling me I got in. I'm kind of glad I did it that way, though, because I actually couldn't freak out every day getting my mail since I knew it wasn't coming to me.

Had a nightmare last night about them dangling an acceptance letter over my head and laughing at me while I tried to get it. This can't be healthy.

It really does concern me that people with lower stats who completed after I did are getting accepted. Maybe today'll be the lucky day?

I guess this is what I was wondering. For those of us accepted late and do not receive named scholarships, will we know our financial package BEFORE early April and mid April deadlines?

Also, not knowing before March can be troublesome for those of us that live near small airports. Last minute flights to ASWs are expensive.

Reading last year's C/O 2014 thread, it looks pretty ugly. Apparently Columbia's finaid office tends to be by far the slowest and not at all considerate of deposit deadlines at other schools. Lots of people in there with UChi deposit deadlines and NYU scholarship deadlines passing without hearing from Columbia. Hooray.
