Someone posted pics of both nyu and cls in the pictures thread. Made me dislike CLS.

And to add onto that, someone went around all of NYC took thousands of pictures, and then sorted them by neighborhood:

General question that (for me) applies to Columbia: I have a semi-mentor (someone I ask for career advice and have talked to 4 or 5 times, but not someone who has read my papers etc) that graduated from Columbia Law. Will it help if I ask him to write them a brief note about me? Hurt? Be neutral?

I don't even know about a brief note is.

Get LOR from professors who know your academic work. Don't get them from people who barely know you.

Haha yeah, well...I may be pretty ignorant of the admissions process, but THAT much I know I shouldn't do. Not a LOR. Just a note to the admissions committee or something, talking about how good a fit I would be at Columbia. I know that happens all the time in undergrad, and I don't know how similar LS admissions are.

I've never heard of anyone doing this. It still sounds like a shortened LOR by someone who doesn't know you.

decided on EDing to Columbia although i have no shot in general, but hopefully the ed and my specific volunteer experience overseas which directly correlates with one of columbias programs might get me an admission, or a hard cold ding lol

Barring a miracle on the October LSAT (and probably even with one) I'll be applying ED. Please, Columbia, understand how much I love you.

NOTE: Transmission of electronic applications to this law school will begin on 9/3/2011. Please return to this page at that time to transmit your application.

Well, looks like Columbia can be submitted a bit before the others.

Oddly enough, Columbia is the only school that seems to require a full SSN.

"By what date will you have registered with the Credential Assembly Service?"

Is this the expiration date on our LSAC account, minus six years? I'm confused!! Thanks!

What do you mean by hidden?

How far back are we supposed to go with employment? I'm assuming they mean your complete history.

Should I talk about my Little League Umpiring Skills? I was the shit. Also: scheduling director. So that shows leadership.
