Based on how all is going indicating applications being down, I would definitely say yes if you can scrounge up 16 bucks. If your numbers are low and your softs are weak, then it might not be worth it if you don't want to roll the dice, but if you have good numbers and softs/ think you would be a compelling candidate, certainly. Though, if living in NYC is not something you want, then I wouldn't either. That was, personally, my biggest concern applying ( I am ED-deferred to RD)

Because apps are down, I think some of the whole warning about applying late has become less applicable. I wouldnt wait too much longer though.

Aside from a couple of schools in particular (I think just UVA/Mich from T14), not a lot of money has gone out, none that I can recall hearing about from Columbia. Since so many HYS numerically qualified people apply to CLS, they probably save it for people they are competing for. So, again, if you would have qualified for cash if you applied in October, I would offer that you chances might not be significantly dimished.

After a disappointing waitlist from Chicago, I'm hoping I have better luck with Columbia.
The next couple weeks are going to be stressful.

Because I'm nervous...but how does Columbia reject/waitlist? Normal boring white envelope? Email?

Why is Columbia's status checker so lame? I can't even confirm they changed my address on it.

Dings and WLs come via mail as well but significantly later than VCEs and I believe they were cream/white envelopes.

Yeah, I hope they got my fall grade transcript they requested. they won't answer anything about your app if you call either.

!!! I'm also Canadian, with a lower LSAT (but higher GPA) and I've gotten accepted into NYU...maybe you've just been YP'd (not sure about Harvard though)? You have great numbers and I heard Columbia is very LSAT-friendly, so you probably don't need to worry.

(hopefully you applied to U of T as well, just in case)
Another Canadian here. 174/3.95. In at NYU also. Seems like yield-protecting to me if you're not getting in with your numbers. Just hang in there for Columbia!
Great to see all the Canadians, good luck to you all! I am Canadian myself, I was admitted last year and currently deferred. CLS sends e-mails before the VCE to international applicants, and last year they came 2 weeks later than the VCEs for Americans - so don't fret if you don't get ur envelope in with everyone else.

Also, Chicago either hates international applicants, or has some really strange admissions criteria. I was also waitlisted at Chicago last year, but I got into CLS on the regular admissions docket, and into Harvard off the waitlist. In short, the results are far less predictable than TLS makes it seem.

As for madvillain - Check your personal statements/writing sample... with those numbers, all the weak replies suggests something has gone seriously awry in your application. Are your references decent?

Thanks for the info. So you're saying internationals didn't get their emails(assuming acceptances) until 2 weeks after regular admits started?

TWO WEEKS later than the VCEs for Americans? I think I will spontaneously combust from all the waiting/agonizing/envy when all the VCE posts start flooding the Columbia thread.

(But thanks for the heads up, and hello to you too and all the other Canadians in this thread)

I think general consensus is that they're getting sent out on Monday, and if not Monday then another day early next week.

I hope they send it out on Monday but it feels like every school has been releasing decisions late this cycle I won't be shocked if Columbia took more time.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
