Or we get to spend all of Christmas waiting for the rejection/WL/deferral email that is sure to come.....
At least we know when things will happen!! (Lookin' at you, NYU).

We'll know by the end of the year either way! Which is three weeks at most!

technically, we're still basing this on past results rather than anything definite

I need the hope to stay alive that I am going to get in mid-finals so I can stop caring so much.

Addy, if you take pics, could you post some? And now I am extremely jealous of NU's location.

Any recommendations on what I should see? Bear in mind that it's freezing (18 right now with moderate winds!) and my time is limited, so it should be worthwhile!

Oh.. And I've done Chicago social scene before, so I'm mostly interested in law school stuff. Apologies in advance if I should be posting elsewhere. Curt replies directing me to other threads will also be appreciated

The law school is all one building, so just kind of explore there. Some things you'll want to see:
-Green Lounge (to the right when you walk in): where people eat lunch and hang out in between classes/sometimes there are receptions here.
-The library: look at floor 3 (you can see 2&3 which are open, and admissions is on the 3rd floor) and then floor 4 or 5 (that's where I usually study, and all the professors' offices are around the outside, which is cool).
-Classrooms (back on the main floor): on the big hallway to the left
-Lockers (the stairs down in between the classrooms will take you here): Everyone gets a locker
-Seminar Classrooms: These are down with the lockers, and are used for smaller classes and lunch talks

That's a quick list of the most useful things to see and where law students spend most of their time!

Also if it's not too cold, check out the main quad of the undergrad campus. It's sooooo pretty!

When you enter the law school, take a right and walk through the Green Lounge to the opposite hallway. There you will find a statue with a crank on it. Turn the crank.

A space will open up at the bottom of the wall to your left. Inside the small space is a map. The map will lead you to the law review office. On the middle shelf at the back wall there is a copy of the 1972 University of Chicago Law Review. Pull on it. The wall will open diagonally and you must walk down the tunnel. You need to go left, right, left, left, right, second from the left, right, right, middle in that order at every split.

At the end of that tunnel will be a man dressed as a pirate. Do not exchange pleasantries with him and do not eat the hamburger he offers you. If you answer his riddle correctly he will give you a key to a locker. Go to that locker, turn the key to the right, and inside will be your acceptance letter.

Welcome.

I would rather write this absurd post then study for Elements.

*raises hand*

If the past is any indication, we'll probably hear back sometime between the 19th and the 22nd if yay and a week or so later if nay.

Does anyone know the typical cut-off date in terms of submitting your application to be a part of the first round of RD admits?

You can look through LSN to get an idea, but last year was different than previous years, so who knows?
