I realize this is probably a stupid question and that I'm grasping at straws but the waiting game is making me crazy.
I'm wondering the same thing. I've been using a status checker android app, but I'm sure that wasn't on there before. I'm on my second UR 2/23.
Not sure if it's been there the whole time but I first noticed it after my last "Under Review" on 02/20.
I'm waitlisted and I have that too. Sorry guys.

Yeah, I saw that on my Upenn status checker too. (waitlisted there) Well, a waitlist is still better than a rejection. Although I would love Chicago if I got in. It could be a sign of waitlist or admit. Its late in the cycle though, so its probably WL.

Edit: Are WL email or snail mail? Just wanna know where I should expect it.

When did they say they would being reviewing the WL?
I dunno, but I figured sometime in March the earliest?
Highly doubt they are reviewing wait-list applications. That won't be happening until after deposits are due in mid-April. You may turn one in now but in all likelihood you are getting ahead of yourself...couldn't hurt though I suppose. But really, don't expect wait-lists to receive a ligetiment look until late April. Best of luck!

I'm guessing that they are waiting until early May to actually admit anyone, but will start to form their priorities on the WL sooner. I mean that they would say "if we need gpas, we take kid a, then kid b, then kid c, but if we need LSATs, we take kid d, then kid e, then kid f. I think that although they don't explicitly rank applicants, and they are still a ways from making any decisions, they have or will soon start looking at people and judging them. I really don't think submitting something now is a bad call.

Umm...considering they waitlisted the fuck out of everyone with a 173 and up, I think it's in their interest to look at their waitlist earlier.

Why? They waitlist a lot of really high LSATs (with high GPAs) every year.

Well...if somebody with a 175/3.9 sent in a kick-ass LOCI pretty much saying if I get in I'll be coming, why would they risk losing that applicant to HYSC by playing dangerously close to the deposit deadline? It makes sense that they start reviewing their more attractive waitlist group sooner than later.

I don't think they will actually start admitting people until May, but I do think the reviews may begin a bit earlier.

FWIW, it seems that Chicago is fashioning itself as the new black box. They've cryptically dropped hints about FA decisions all week, and then they don't even send out all the aid package letters at once. I'm a December admit, and I didn't even get a FA denial email. Absolute silence, so I'm guessing they're waiting for people to turn down the money they offered yesterday before sending borderline scholly ppl (ie myself) their packages. All this to say that unsubstantiated speculation persists after admission to Chicago; they seem to have a hard-on for keeping us guessing.

Hey anewaphorist! U of Chicago just posted on twitter and I thought it is relevant to your post. Sounds like you probably should contact them...

UChicagoLawAdmission ‏ @UChicagoLawApps - All Early Decision and January admits should have received a financial aid email yesterday. If you did not, let us know.

I don't know any special information, just an educated guess. Also, not wanting anyone to get their hopes up in thinking they will hear back sooner. We all know how many admissions offices take a long time to respond to applicants as well. It is all a moot point for me, as I have been admitted, with the exception of waiting for financial aid like others have. As always, best of luck.

I just withdrew as the financial offer was way too small for me. Hoping one of you gets in, GL to the waitlisted!

Wow, you're 2/2 in the threads I read for asking questions that have been answered > or = to 100 times.

To answer your question, probably not. Chicago gives decisions in waves and most people will be getting UR 3 right around the time decisions are released. Consequently, you'll see this thread start to blow up.
