Is this proof that Chicago is becoming Stanford-like blackboxish, or that it actively engages in YP now?

Really? Every school I've been accepted to has the first deposit that same timeframe between 4/1-4/15

Stanford's ASW isn't until April 21st, and Harvard has a second ASW the weekend of April 14th, I thought May 1st was far more common, but I might be wrong.

I don't know what to make about the smattering of numbers getting waitlisted, the fact that so many with strong numbers did get in make me think that YP is unlikely, either softs started to matter a lot or they just had a lot of qualified applicants and they didn't want to over enroll so they were heavy handed with the waitlists this year, I guess we'll know more as the cycle continues.

I'm stunned by the numbers of some of the people getting WLed.

This makes my decision. Im sending my harvard deposit tomorrow. Good luck everyone!

Don't take it personal. Chicago has had to deal with people who deposit and then ditch at the last minute because they got unheld at Harvard etc. Some even have the audacity to ask for their deposit back.

To everyone who's gotten dinged today, I'm really sorry to hear that! And looking at the numbers of some people on the waitlist - holy crap! If you guys don't get in soon (which I'm betting many of you will) you're going to have some amazing alternatives (and in many cases already do!). Crossing my fingers for you! :D

This page needs a little bit more happy news, so I wanted to check in to say that I just got in a little while ago via email (international). 1/9er (at or above both 75th). So thrilled!!

Bolded seems like the best explanation IMO, but doesn't exactly fit with the storyline of "falling applicants and LSAT administrations".....

Joining the WL bloodbath here. Not surprised though with my low GPA. But HOLY SHIT at the quality of numbers getting waitlisted.

My only speculation is that people who submitted way early (sept/oct) had a much better chance than those who submitted after thanksgiving... no idea though. Sorry everyone :( You will all end up at great schools though!!

Submitted early oct lol

Ah ok, well the best school I've been accepted to is Michigan and their deadline for me is April 12th.

IN via email! GPA above 75-percentile, LSAT at median, and submitted early September. Mrs. Perry called my home, but since I'm abroad she dropped me a line also. Awesome!!!

I've been to a few Chicago admissions events (and went there for undergrad) - I've heard multiple times from the current students, alums and admissions officers that Chicago is very holistic in their review of applicants. It's definitely not just a numbers game.

Bullshit. They lack the balls for that. You need to be top dog to pull off that Yale-Standard shit (see Berkeley).

????? That is not right, you will be accepted somewhere though bro. You are a YP and if you write a LOCI I'm sure you will see some love.

I hope your PS and 250 were polished and that you sent an app to Yale. If so, enjoy New Haven.

I appreciate the humor, but I think I might resign myself to UVA, the way things are going. I feel bad even for saying that because UVA has been the only school to even offer me a scholarship so far.

Did you shank someone? Are you Asian? Idk, I can't think of any other reason.

Yeah, I feel like that's bs Chicago trolling (not by you KEP, but to you). With the numbers of people being WLed (not including me) I wouldn't be surprised if they're working on their atrocious yield rate.

If I didn't know better, I'd call this blatant advertisement in hopes that adcomms are lurking. This should be a bannable offense. Have the decency to send in an LOCI like everybody else.

Okay I'm kidding. Cheer up people. It's Friday. Cheers to the fucking weekend, yeah?
