Actually, I just read last year's thread more closely, and it looks like Dean Perry called some admitted students in January and February to interview them for the Rubenstein, and then notified them the result later by email. I have no idea what percentage of people who were interviewed actually received Rubensteins. Find out for yourselves (I searched Rubenstein and Ruby): viewtopic.php?f=7&t=129424

Hence: small chance.

Hard to say no to $200,000 though.

Wrapped up final comm. meeting on this group of files. Thanks for your patience. Big group of apps and had to make tough decisions.

The fact that they tweeted this better be an indication that tomorrow is the day...i mean aren't they closed on Monday...and Tuesday seems like torture to me.

This is factually inaccurate.

Ok, fine. H with over half could be better depending on your post-grad goals.

Are you saying this because of a cost/benefit analysis taking into account only the rising pay scale of a big law firm + paying off loans? (I.e. Both Harvard and Chicago get you to 160k/year 1st year salary, except Chicago w/ Ruby gets you there with no loans and interest, whereas Harvard does)?

Lol. The difference between H and Chicago is actually a lot smaller in placement than most people think. Go look at the aliarrow thread from a couple years ago, the nlj 250 data, as well as clerkship and academia data. Chicago placed more graduates in biglaw than wanted it (leaked data) and also is astronomically good at getting clerkships and is great for getting people into academia. This notion that Harvard is worth considerably more than Chicago with a scholarship, in most cases, is ridiculous. If you ask people who have graduated and are in the field, most would say that they'd take a Butler at Columbia or the equivalent at Chicago over Harvard at sticker ten times out of ten.

Did I mention that UChicago has a zero-depth reflecting pool?

I cannot deal with this anymore. Updated for the fourth time today.

Chicago is a very bad boyfriend right now, leading all of us on like this.
