I can't agree with the bolded.

What's interesting is that their GPA floor does seem to have softened from last year. I think Chicago just had a huge number of strong ED candidates and didn't want to lock in such a large part of their class this early in the cycle. Getting rolled to RD is a blessing in disguise if you eventually get accepted.

EDIT: I suppose it's tough for anyone to expect to get into Stanford or Chicago, so maybe we don't really disagree.

Starting to get nervous that my UR date hasn't updated at all. I first went UR 10/21, applied 9/23. Are there other people who applied pretty early still stuck w UR dates in mid-October?

Yeah, that's what I was saying, just that numbers that may have previously been shoe-ins are now possibles. Seems there is more mystery added to decisions. Stanford has always done something similar where people with high numbers that "should" qualify don't get in for some reason, but others with numbers that seem more...challenging do. You just can't count on how its going to go anymore. But can it be maintained at Chi? I'm not so sure....we will see I guess what the RD class holds for them and how they may need to go back and revise. They certainly seem to be gunning though with these large scholarships now in play. It seems last year to have worked.

Anyhow, we'll have to see how the RD admits go. This is my very last school that I haven't heard from so I'll just be glad to get this whole thing wrapped up for better or worse! Here's to freedom from all status checkers FOREVER! And I never updated from 12/14 so I'm thinking the decision has probably been made at this point and its just a matter of time.

I'm stuck on complete so I would die for just one UR date! :x

+1 Same w/ the Mid-November-submission and lack of review date. I'm ignorantly confident that we will hear back by the end of January and that the responses will all be admits :-)

I'm stuck as of 10/22 and applied around the same time. I don't think we should worry yet!

@Mum, my comments about YP were about Michigan RD, hope that clears things up.

My status checker just updated to a second UR date 1/1/2012. Weird that they're in the office on New Year's. First UR date was 12/22, RD.

Applied early November. UR as of 12/30. Took about a month and a half from Complete --> UR.

I thought it was already established that they have monkeys manning the Status Checker Update consoles

I had one on Christmas, it is unusual, it was my second, first was 12/09. I think they have decided on me for good or bad but waiting till Jan to release a wave.

this is true. I think this is the only thing I want more than ED, since they may actually give a little money in that scenario. Either way, I'd basically go to Chi no matter what.

Yeah, I'm actually of the other opinion. As much as I like Chicago, now it's about scholarship offer plus attraction. I want to end up back in my home city for my career, so it's basically a combination of money and ease to get back there. Chicago is definitely still up there, but now I'm open to all offers. If I get blown away by an offer somewhere else, all the better.

Hey everyone, first time poster here. I was one of those who applied ED and got waitlisted into RD and just heard back last Thursday. Anyone know if they tend to take a lot of waitlisted EDs in their RD pool?

I've been complete and not under review since the 5th. Come on, Chicago. At least give me a courtesy glance.

I suppose that they have been reviewing the ED applicants and will start to review us RD applicants now that ED choices have been established?

This is an assumption based on the quantity of applicants who have stated that their application has been complete, materials gathered, but not reviewed and for a lengthy time if that.

Those who had their application complete for nearly a month or more and have not received any review dates, typically have "strong" numbers, no?

I am optimistic for those of us who are awaiting review dates. I've been telling myself that I will hear back from most of the schools I applied to before mid February, with the exception being Yale... unless I get denied more sooner than not

Best of Luck All!

what seems to be the whole process for uchi?

Complete
UR 1
UR 2
Decision?

Any evidence from last year the gap for RD between 2 and Decision?

Also, I am correct that nobody RD has a decision from chi yet?

I am sorry if this has been answered, but do multiple UR updates signify anything? Acceptance, WL?
