Okay so this is a noob question. I haven't really been keeping up with the Chicago thread because my chances of getting in are almost zero. But I know that their Need Access deadline for need-based aid is February 15? I applied late in the cycle and I know I won't be hearing from Chicago for a long, long time. Most other schools have finaid-related deadlines of March 1 or 2. Do we have to submit the Need Access by 2/15 even if we're not accepted yet?

Second under review date! 2/2, after 1/25 before it. I understand after the second one, that means I'm finding out soon? Is that correct? This thread is hard to follow sometimes, I apologize if this is a dumb question. I imagine I can't glean anything from the dates, but whatever.

From a cursory reading of last years thread, it's the third UR that counts. I don't know the cutoffs but you sound like you'll be in the next batch. The first two dates might have some meaning but I'm pretty sure the third date put people into a WL/ding pile and an accept pile, with the accepts being put on their third UR two days before the WL pile.

Also went UR for the second time today (2/2) after having gone UR on 1/21. So according to Captain Reynolds, the reavers....i mean adcomm, will decide after the third update?

Sounds like it'll be a fun day here when those 3rd URs happen. Thanks for the info.

Submitted a late application 1/9 after I got a fee waiver...finally complete today. Pretty sure I'm an auto-deny but here goes nothing...

Is there an In at Chicago thread? If so, I couldn't find it. Just got an email saying I've received the Rubenstein...don't people usually have to phone interview for that? I'm quite shocked.

ETA: If I hadn't been in such a state of shock I would have seen that the link was a few posts before mine -_.

Congrats, Ruby finalists! Do Ruby invites usually go out in one batch? In other words, if we weren’t picked now, will we ever be?

These weren't invites, they were award notifications (the real thing). AFAIK, no one received invites or phone interviews this year. Looks like they're doing it differently.

2 cents: Go to UC. No brainer considering employment prospects, mentoring, and lack of debt. IMO
