Erm - late January? I forget. I submitted all materials in the middle of December.

Does anyone know UChicago's deferral policy. I've already accepted a job offer for next year (in undergrad right now), but Chicago is my first choice and I would heavily consider deferring for a couple years if they allow me. I've already researched online and can't find anything directly from Chicago's website, but have read from a number of other sources they generally don't (TFA excepted).

I have not been admitted yet (3rd UR today), but have already gotten into both Columbia and NYU so my app is at least highly competitive. If they don't accept deferrals, should I withdraw my app? I've read in the past that it could hurt you when you reapply if you've been accepted in a previous cycle.

Jeepers. We have very similar review dates. I just got a third review date too. 2/4/2012; 2/7/2012; 2/8/2012. The proximity of the dates to each other is kind of freaking me out.

I hope we all receive positive news! I'm not going to lie, I scoured this year's thread and last year's thread last night to try to figure out if this all meant anything. And the conclusion I came to - inconclusive.

I know that the class of 2015 definitely has a fair number of deferrals, so it's certainly possible (though I don't know how difficult it is to get one). Stick it out and ask if you get admitted - it definitely can't hurt. If you get waitlisted, however, I doubt they allow people to defer after a WL->Admit, so you'd probably want to withdraw in that case.
