They did not tell me I got a scholarship on the phone, but I received a letter with a scholarship worth $40,000 ($10,000 x 4 years)!

I know "Top Law Schools", I should be disappointed with SMU, but too bad!

Anyone have any idea when they might start taking people off the waitlist? Anecdotal, old threads, this thread, voices in your head...I'll take anything. Thanks much and good luck if you're still sitting, waiting and hoping.

The next Seat deposits are May 15th, so I would imagine sometime after that when they get people who decline their offers.

I had a friend get in off the WL in early June. I also had a friend get in off the WL on the first day of orientation. Seems like it could be any time after 2nd deposits are due.

Withdrew my app yesterday. I hope somebody on here can fill my spot.

Definitely a rough decision to make by May 15, as I've already put in a deposit at ASU.

Surprised I was admitted, but I'm definitely excited to be in! SMU's application process takes forever though! They were the first law school I applied to....and the last I heard back from.

I applied middle of my cycle and they were pretty early on in my responses and were my first acceptance, which was relieving after a couple dings and a WL.

Count your blessings.

Still waiting also. My boss graduated from SMU law and she said back when she applied she had put down a deposit for a school in New Mexico and was a week away from moving out there until she received her letter, which was in late July. So this could be a long wait for us.

I had a good number of friends who were late admits and had deposited at and committed to other schools before hearing back from SMU. I had a friend who got in after the first day of orientation!

I don't envy those of you still waiting to hear back.

My WL letter from UC Davis said "If, by August 19, it doesn't appear there will be a position for you in our class, we will advise you of such." Classes start August 20. (It also said "Don't panic" and several things to indicate please don't call us ("All of the available information regarding your position on the wait list is included in this letter" or some such). It was a pretty awesome WL letter.

Some of you may have noticed this already, but there's a profile on law school numbers with "WL, Accepted W" with a decision date of 5/24. His numbers were 3.89/162, and he applied early action. I don't recall that there a few days ago, so I guess he just updated for us. Only one so far, but it looks like the list is moving. Hope those waiting get some good news.
