Small chance but definitely possible... You never know who an adcomm is going to like...

Thanks! I survived. I'm pretty nervous about phone calls in general, and I think she could probably tell I was. She was extremely personable and easy to talk to, though. Now we wait!

There's only one way to find out. Apply!

That's my mantra for this cycle.

Just got done with my call!

She called exactly at the start of my time window, talked about why law, harvard, what im up to these days,

and the last question had to do with my personal statement..

overall thought it went well, got a few chuckles out of her even though i was sweating like a.......like a.....extremely nervous and sweaty person...lol.

KB1 in my junk email - funny, guess who's interviewing on their BIRTHDAY? That should give me some good karma, right, right?

Seriously though....by my calculations based on last year, these things will continue to come out in random order for the next week to catch up on all the ones they'll need to do to fill such a large class. When you get one is inconsequential. I bet they'll be interviewing right up until Friday before Thanksgiving. Hang in there for the long wait.

Congrats to all those who had or got KB1's today.

I went straight from Application Received this morning to Under Review just now (submitted 10/30). Nearly had a heart attack- was expecting Application Complete, if anything.

Had my KB1 at the beginning of the hour allotted, lasted about 7 minutes. She also asked me what are you up to these days, why law school, why Harvard, do you have any questions for me. I hope it went well? I'm overanalyzing it cuz I just wanna get in so badly aaaaahhhhh!

And now the delay seems nice right? Because last year the first interviewees waited 6 weeks to hear. You've probably only got a couple. Did she say if you'd hear back from Thanksgiving? I think last year they told them when to expect to hear something, like in a few weeks....

I say apply, because no one is certain how this drop in applications thing will impact admissions at any of the top schools. It may not, but if it did and you didn't throw your hat in....that would be so sad!

Nope, all she said was "thanks for talking to me" or something along those lines. I was going to ask, but I had already asked three questions and didn't wanna take up anymore of her time haha

Nice Mum! Silly spam filters.

I asked what the decision timeline was going to be like. She said they'd probably start notifying people at the end of November, but that it takes a long time because she's the only one doing it, so not everyone who gets interviewed now will hear soon. She also said they hadn't made any decisions yet.

Hmmm...maybe they got it in a follow-up email. I feel like someone actually was told though. Either way, I am sure it won't be too long.

Congrats guys and gals! Sounds like you all did really well :)

KB1! Just got the email (3:39).

174/superior, strong softs (imho) - applied 10/02, complete 10/13.

So excited! Gives me hope that I will end up at a T6, one way or another.

Well it seems like November 22/23rd is generally the first day H admits people, no?

I asked mostly because I was hoping she'd say that, so I could casually mention that I'll be in London then (actually, traveling back to the US that day), but the convo didn't go that way. Since she said the end of Nov, I didn't say anything about it.

Usually, but they were a little later with interviews this year than normal so it might push stuff back. On the other hand, they seem to be issuing and calling all week so maybe they'll make up the lost time. Hard to say since we don't have complete numbers, just the unrepresentative sample from TLS from year to year. Sounds like end of November probably does mean just prior to Thanksgiving. I am sure they get some break for the holiday.

Anyhow, did we want to put our numbers together for the people that got an invite today. It seems like there is a pattern from those with their numbers in their profiles or who posted - seems like almost every today was above both medians and above median/above 75ths - lots of 174/175 and 3.9+. It might be that the apps were originally sorted by some sort of numerical thing and they are now working through those piles in an order, but there is really no way to know, so I wouldn't read too much into any of it.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
