Well, I was honest and said I knew things could change, but was currently interesgted in two specific areas. She paused, and then said "those are two pretty different areas." I don't know, and haven't obsessed, over weather or not that was a bad sign.

I'm scared of the lounge. Can't we just keep talking in here.

JS1 any minute now... I'm nearly shitting myself at work with nervousness. I never get this nervous, especially for interviews. TLS, calm me down!

She really focused on the type of law I mentioned in the application, though I would be interested in dabbling a little bit before I settle down. She asked if I wanted to practice in the U.S. or in Canada or elsewhere, though, which I was a little surprised by since I'm applying to an American law school. But I'm sure we aced it.

We didn't talk type of law. Spent more time discussing volunteer and work experience. I keep wondering if I was too verbose. Oh well. Come on JS, as soon as you finish talking to brownpride. Show us some love!

I have a feeling that IF she calls you, or I, or Byz, today it will be a little later in the day. I think I remember someone mentioning that they got their JS2 calls a little later in the evening. I was very verbose as well, and I could hear the echoing from her recording machine, which kinda distracted me. I think I had good questions though, so that is good. (Questions about how grading system is seen by employers, taking classes at the Divinity school, etc. etc.)
I wish I could stop agonizing about the interview already.

First world problems.

10 minutes exactly. She didn't ask me anything about why Harvard or why the particular type of law, even though that was much of what I prepared. All she asked was:
- What I do at my current job
- Which of my undergrad extracurriculars would I look mostly fondly upon in the future and why?
- Whether I've considered working after undergrad before law school
- Why I'm applying to American schools and if I've thought about where I want to work post-law school (I'm Canadian)
- If I had any questions for her

Hope the above helps future JS1s. To echo the sentiments of other posters on this thread, she is super friendly, casual, and easy to talk to. It's really like a fun job interview with an interviewer only a few years older than you, and it did indeed go by super quick.

That being said, this was totally not what I was looking forward to. The questions she asked weren't conducive to me giving answers that were really representative of why I want to go to Harvard. But I guess we'll see what happens in a few days/weeks.

Best of luck to other JS1s!

She asked a similar thing, about where I want to practice, and I think that's a common question they ask us Canadians. (I told her I naturalized a couple of weeks ago.)
I am a little surprised she didn't ask me if I wanted to work after undergrad. Did you have any part-time work experience during undergrad? (I've worked part-time for a few years, so I'm hoping that's why she didn't ask.)

I have worked, throughout undergrad. I did hear of other JS1s being asked the same thing if they were coming out of undergrad though, so I guess it's not too uncommon.

Sorry, on the off-chance that this IS in fact a 30 Rock reference, I had to take a moment to show my appreciation :P

Did you do most of the talking or did she? She only had three questions for me, and I feel like in the end she may have talked more than I did, which is probably not a good thing?

Congrats to the JS2s!!! It's only been two days since my JS1 and I already can't take it. Don't know how you lasted a week Byz, but congrats!
