This is almost exactly my 2 month anniversary of being UR. And the "What does a 'Hold' mean?" post on the admissions blog says that people who have been UR for 2 months with no decision are held. So maybe that's why?Byzantine wrote:I am shocked and offended by this statement. JS1 does not seem to follow the admissions etiquette. They are very smart people who compete against each other aggressively every cycle for rankings. I wouldn't be surprised if some admissions deans had strategic alliances. I would!hypothalamus wrote:Hahah would that be so unlikely? Well, at least they aren't rejections, but this is pretty disappointing. Oh well

Sigh.
Right? FrustratingByzantine wrote:

This law school business works in the same way as airline companies...

same. I was so scared of a columbia hold, granted HLS couldn't possibly hold me twice....But, damn, it is hard to filter cooley...I spamed it everytime it made into my inbox but still, oh well.

Damn near had a heart attack.
(Also, sorry Elliot+Mikey et al. That sucks.)
Also, at the risk of sounding insensitive, can we speculate on whether a batch of JS2s might follow this group of holds...?

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
Lets go with no. I think they will give more people on hold JS1s and then compare them to those who already had JS1's in hopes of bringing in the best applicants possible. I keep telling myself that there are being conservative and I'm thankful for that, as I feel I deserve a look before too many people are admitted. Hang in there Elliot and Mikey; good things are coming!kingofspain wrote:+10000thelong wrote:+1Byzantine wrote:FU Cooley there are holds falling all over the place, and you decide its a good time to drop by my inbox.

@THE LONG, That's what I'm trying to say. We get all these finely-honed ideas of how schools do things and then someone new comes and changes it all up. Messes with our predictive powers.

I think there was a question that came up in my interview that I could have answered significantly better. Will do that via LOCI. Thanks for the support everyone.
