so does the whole "apply early" mantra go out the window once held? or is there some advantage to being an early submitter, early hold, early whatever?

Don't want to burst bubbles, but I've come to understand the Harvard hold is a soft Reject...I would love for someone to tell me I'm wrong :).
Pretty sure that's wrong! Like snehpets said, I think about 25% of the holds eventually get in... :)

EDIT: Again... on the basis of TLS and LSN, not necessarily representative...
SO IF WE'RE ON LSN, WE HAVE A 25% CHANCE OF GETTING IN AFTER HOLD?

right right?! lol

EXACTLY!

SO IF I HAVE 2 LSN ACCOUNTS, DOES THAT DOUBLE MY CHANCES TO 50%? LOL

I think the admissions lady technically used the phrase "final stages of processing," which made it sound more administrative than evaluative... But then again, a lot of KB1 people get the KB emails very soon after receiving the actual "complete" emails, which kind of provides support for your interpretation...

Everything is just so confusing.
Oh I see what you mean about the term "processing". That does seem administrative. If under review truly means that someone is reviewing your app, and if everyone's complete after they are already UR, then at the very least we know that "complete" does not just mean that they put together the pieces of your app.

None of this matters anymore, to me at least.... I am now in the Hold pile... entering a matrix of yet more ambiguity. HLS themselves even says we are not sure when you will hear back, or what you will hear. Basically, like someone said a little while ago, just acknowledging us and telling us to settle in for a longer wait (aka please do not call our office thank you very much)

Held at Harvard and to be honest, I'm ECSTATIC! Non-URM, decent but not world-saving softs, and GPA is below the "floor."

Just starting to drift to sleep and heard the email *beep* on my outlook. Saw email from Harvard, assumed it was a rejection and almost started crying because it was just a hold email! :D Lol

UR 11/21, complete email 12/1, and my status checker updated to today sometime between receiving the email and reading through the last two pages of this thread to see what I missed.

Good luck to everyone! My excitement over this hold leads to me believe my heart would just flat-line if (in my next life) I were to get a KB1...

Under review a month from today, with a complete e-mail on the 22nd of Dec. Any chance at a batch of KB1s being sent out early next week?

I am curious as to when people who were held today submitted/went complete..... have they started going through the December apps? Is it even in chronological order anymore?

Hi everyone,
I'm a long time lurker and I just wanted to add my stats to the pile out of respect to all of you posting yours, which helped me evaluate my chances and quell a modicum of my overall anxiety.

Undergrad: HYP
WE: None
GPA: 3.8
LSAT: 173

Submitted: 11/2
Complete: 11/15
KB1: 1/9
KB2: 1/12

I don't know if the rest of my cycle thus far is relevant but I'd be happy to share if desired.

Really hope so... we haven't seen a big batch in awhile... unless they're just doing them on a case by case basis now...

When Harvard rejects you, does your status update to something? Or does it stay on your last UR date?

Lordy. So is everyone at this point pretty much hold, reject, or KB1? I still haven't gotten jack.

I haven't heard anything since 11/08. No hold. No KB1. No rejection notice.

I haven't heard anything yet either, I'm 12/5 UR, 12/12 Complete. I'm guessing a lot of news is going to come out Monday. Hopefully I'll last that long...
