I've benefited so much from this forum that I figured I'd finally create a profile and post.

For those of you who haven't heard *anything* for months: There's still hope! I got my "complete" email on 12/22 and only just heard back yesterday (no hold or anything in the meantime), when I was offered a JS1 interview. I had the call today, which didn't have any major hiccups but left me a bit flustered simply because it was so short. We'll see what happens from here.

Wow, congrats! From what I'm hearing, short interviews are pretty much the norm, so there's nothing to worry about.

Hmm, interesting...this seems to show they're going through the "forgotten" pile before (if) they get to more holds...

Do you mind sharing when you submitted your application? I applied late in the cycle so I kinda wonder if they have even looked at my application yet.

Thanks and good luck!

Myself and Elliott were held almost immediately post-JS1 too. I have no idea what it means. (I'm also URM).

Are there many people this year above both medians (so 174+ and 3.9+) who haven't received admission?

This guy right here. Though I did have an underwhelming JS1 experience.
Damn you make me nervous. Numbers twin. How's the rest of your cycle gone? Anything you think about your app that would've made you underperform?

I got in at C, C and N so definitely not having a cycle to complain about. How about you?

Congrats! I'm actually applying next cycle. Just thought I'd pop my head in this thread and see how things are going. I took my LSAT in February and am a junior in UG now.

I am a rarity in the fact that my numbers have got me into only two top six programs and waitlisted at every other place I applied to accept for the two straight rejections from schools I applied to for deferred admission.
I'm beginning to have a strong suspicion as to why your art degree isn't being respected

That's because you've been panicking from the get-go. Relax, really. It's not that serious. I really wish you the best of luck but you've got to relax. Just breathe. You'll be fine.

Sure—I submitted in late November. I honestly have no idea where they are in the process right now, though.

I'm thinking about taking some time off before law school (Teach for America). Should I mention that in the interview or avoiding talking about deferring law school for 2 years?
Would you mind sharing your numbers, when you went on hold, if you're a URM, etc.?
PM me for my numbers. But I submitted 1/8. Went complete 2/9. Never got put on hold. Didn't hear anything until the JS1 email.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Held, below both medians. Wait is killing me, especially since I know people with my numbers don't get into Harvard.

Is anyone else below both medians wondering if Harvard held them just to prove that they're not REALLY the numbers whore everyone makes them out to be (especially when compared to Yale and Stanford)? Maybe they had a few sacrificial lambs earlier in the process with high numbers that they axed just to prove a point, when really they're only going to take the high numbers off the held pile anyway ? It just doesn't make sense to me that I was held, especially since Harvard is pretty predictable and really doesn't seem to care as much about soft factors like Stanford does.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
