I just don't like when people are jerks or condescending in a trite way.

Often repeat offenders whom which lurk the TLS forums, 1000+ posts and rolling. The more I use TLS the more I've had run-ins with them. Several people simply make a habit of "1-uping" each-other with desperate pleas of being witty at the expense of others honest inquiries and sometimes desperate enough to pick through post history to make a point about an admissions process that they actually know little about.

lets be honest here...some humor is needed in this thread...what nulli said was pretty funny imho and even if he wasnt joking...it was a legitimate answer to the question and the asnwer didnt have any douchy-ness to it.

ETA: Even on your status checker page, it says the decision can take up to 2 months after the complete date (which is optimistic btw, been more than 3 months for me). So, ok, do not read the thread, but what makes you think your hopes may need severe downward adjustment a month before the stated deadline?

Well, I guess the decisions date chart and I feel like I've read people talking about mostly getting KB1's shortly after or around the time of complete date. But you know, it was still a question, just phrased pessimistically.

Just like Yale and pretty much every other school I guess, Harvard chooses some people as auto-admits and races to schedule an interview with them as soon after their applications are received as humanely possible. Not hearing within a few weeks means you are not in this category IF your application date is at the latest early November. After this date, Harvard starts piling all applications together until the application deadline and when the entirety of the applicant pool is known, starts rendering decisions regarding these people. So, not hearing anything with a late December UR is not only normal but also expected (going UR some days before Christmas). There may still be people hearing news during this period, and you should assume they co-authored the article explaining the cure for cancer currently being peer-reviewed and therefore should not dwell on it.

This is the most encouraging thing anyone's posted in a while. Now I just wish someone else would substantiate it.

I don't understand how people can be getting rejected, when my fee waiver email said: "Because we prefer to thoroughly review all files and ensure that each applicant has a fair opportunity to have his or her file reviewed in comparison with all other files, we will not deny or wait list applicants until late April."

So the app deadline is finally upon us..im guessing they might give some kb1s this week or wait a while to review the late submitters this week and get back to us next week or the week after....i really hate the fact that they put our apps on hold for the late comers...whats the point of us registering for the lsat early and working hard on my app to get it in by Sept/Oct/Nov if we still don't get the slight advantage of turning our apps early.

My understanding is that HLS doesn't give merit-based fee waivers, but they give need-based waivers like all the other law schools.

It could be possible that the reason there has been an extended delay in the admissions process (especially in terms of sending out KB1s) is that they've hired a new dean. Remember, KB is simply the director of admissions acting as dean until a new one is found. If they've hired someone new, it would be necessary to train that person and get him/her caught up on the status of this cycle. Once that was completed, the cycle would pick back up. Just a thought...

They've done it before...KB took over for Toby Stock in the middle of a cycle a few years ago.

They've done it before...KB took over for Toby Stock in the middle of a cycle a few years ago.

That was a different situation, though - Toby Stock was leaving, not starting... I really think that they're just waiting until today's deadline passes by.
