Did everyone get decisions by mail? Maybe only the bad decisions?... :?
All acceptances have been sent via mail.

My status checker switched to "Decision letter sent" one morning, but I received a phone call within a few hours from the dean of admissions letting me know that I was accepted. I never actually received the snail mail for 6 days.

I have no idea how they handle this for international students, but I have to believe they would at least email you to let you know quickly at this point in the cycle. You can also supposedly log on to the AS Website before hearing anything if you're admitted (though I never was able to before the phone call so don't worry if you can't).
Well NYU answered almost as quick as fellow TLSers, and I guess the decision email also constitutes a decision letter... Dinged

Good luck to everyone else, looks like I'll be retaking the LSAT and applying next year since I now realize my 'superior' GPA is meaningless to adcoms without an equally high LSAT. I will give NYU credit though, they had me under review for well over a month before rejecting me, so I trust they really gave consideration to my softs and GPA even though those don't help the school with their ranking.
Sorry to hear...do you mind positing stats? Also a reverse splitter here

does NYU send out decisions in waves? Meaning, since we had bad news today (so sorry!) does that mean there is no hope for good?

NYU sent me a grade request about 2+weeks ago, so I know they have to check out my new stuff...I also sent in a LOCI/WHY NYU letter to go with my first semester grades. I'm hoping they are wooed by it all, but I guess my biggest concern is when/how much will this new information set my application back? I don't expect anyone to have real answers (if you do, hit a sista up) but this is more of a vent for my anxiety. I'm still waiting for Harvard, Cornell, UCLA and Duke--but NYU is my top top top, so I'm praying for some love.

I am in basically the same boat...out of school a while so no new grades, but I have a LOR I didn't include b/c it was slow coming and I wanted to get my app in. I have a draft of a LOCI/Why NYU letter to go with it, but I'm not sure if I should send it or wait for a waitlist...

I knew NYU and the likes was a serious reach, and I was also forced to apply very late after a lengthy transcript evaluation process, which does seem to further diminish one's chances. My numbers were 157/superior (top of my class), non-URM, but was hoping for boosts from service in Army Special Forces (including reserves during my undergraduate studies), unique post-military government work (which had me employed more than full-time for my entire BA), and a strong letter of recommendation from a Professor under whom I completed a course in Constitutional Law with a grade of 100, who happens to the the person who wrote the only laws that have to date been entered into the constitution for the country where I live. Ironically, while serving as a minister in the government, he also tried unsuccessfully to eliminate standardized testing for entry into higher education, claiming that had such tests existed when he was a student, he would never have been accepted to study law.

Likewise. Though for my reaction you can change 7 to 11/22 and add a number 8 for "world's most frustrated eye-roll"

It would seem that they feel *reeeeeeally* noncommittal about splitters, judging by the Valley of Sad on LSN and how many of us in the "Splitters Unite!" thread are still waiting on that blasted school...

So what's going on with NYU? If we haven't heard anything are we in some sort of hold group? Likely to be waitlisted/rejected?

I wonder if March will come and go while I'm still complete. I hate to withdraw without at least hearing something...

They sent me a grade request 2/23, it arrived 3/1, and I sent in a LOCI the following Monday... I hope that whole process doesn't push my application too far back, but I guess I should anticipate a longer wait

Just got off the phone with admissions. I called to check in my grades had been received. The woman told me to assume they were, but she couldn't check for sure since my app was with the committee. I don't know what that means, ( in terms of if they are reviewing it, or if it's sitting with 1000 other applications in a big pile) but hopefully it isn't bad.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
