My mom is an NYU Law grad, and she got a phone call today from the alumni office to let her know that they "had just decided to admit her daughter to the Class of 2015," and that she could tell me if she wanted to, but that I was going to find out via mail in just a few days. The only purpose of the call was to let her know that I was accepted.
So, unless someone is punking my mom (or she is punking me--doubtful), I'm in!
The weird thing: my status still says under review 11/7. No update, no decision letter mailed status. I just called my mom back to confirm they REALLY said I was admitted, and she played me the voicemail saying that I was in.
RD, sent 10/25, complete 11/2, under review 11/7. Huge splitter with very strong softs.
Will save the happy dance until I get the purple envelope. This could be an elaborate prank designed to break my NYU-loving heart.
This is how the first person found out last year as well.
Great news for the rest of the RD crew, because it means decisions are coming shortly.
