It did not go well for me. Will have to retake in December and against all sound advice, I am not cancelling either. I just can't handle not ever knowing the score.

This means I lose the much-needed advantage of applying early.

Grumble.

I already have a shit ton of apps in so I just have to hope for the best at this point.
Good luck!

Just finished Virginia's application. Submitted to Duke, Northwestern and Michigan last week. Only complete at Duke so far. Sigh. It is going to be a long few months...

Update time: did people get scores back? What are everyone's new numbers?

3.22/173

Also, we should stay diligent about updating this during the cycle. I want to have a solid thread with lots of data points for TLS splitters to look at next year. So I guess once you submit, post your school list here, and then edit the post as you get decisions back.

Here's to a great cycle guys!

I say blanket the top 14 and apply to 2 regional/safety-ish schools somewhere in the top 40 as well.

Yay! I can now consider myself a splitter!

My application list will basically be lower t14, Vandy, GW, BU, BC, my state school. I am praying that low app numbers this year miraculously get me into one of MVP.

Still debating where to use my ED....hmmm....

I posted to "what are my chances" already, but I know you guys are the splitter specialists so I thought I'd ask here as well.

Condensed version of my chances thread:

177/167/3.2

ED to NYU, with ED to UVA as backup plan?
ED to Penn, with ED to UVA as backup plan?
Or just ED to UVA now rather than risking missing the boat on the whole T10?

For all of these scenarios, the backup backup plan would be Cornell or Gtown.

Hard to tell, honestly. Nobody applied ED to NYU with numbers close to you except 1 guy last year with a 3.34/180 (accepted). Penn accepted a couple people with lower LSAT and similar GPA. I'd say you're pretty much a lock for Penn with an ED, NYU...who knows.

If you'd be happier at UVA, just ED there. If you'd be happier at Penn, ED there. Peer schools.

That's kind of where my research led to. Thanks for the response. I'm glad to hear you think I'm a lock at Penn. I didn't know my chances were that strong there. I'm leaning toward Penn over UVA right now, but I'll have to look into it a bit more.

Yeah, I think so. Last year Penn let in (via ED): 3.27/170, 3.33/171. Their highest LSAT rejection was a 3.3/171. The year before they let in: 3.21/171, 3.28/175, 3.35/174, 3.37/170. Rejected: 3.47/173 (no idea here).

2.97/177

NU would be great.
Chicago, NYU, Michigan, or Penn would be better.

Trying to decide if I should try with the higher ranked schools, or if I should play it safe and ED now to NU. I'm hoping for a soft cycle with LSATs down. Maybe ED to one of the the higher ranked?

ED to NU might be different this cycle given that they're giving out full scholarships (i.e. ED might be harder).

Yeah, most likely you'll be deferred to RD on NU and you'll get the chance to play out your cycle. TBH though I'm not sure Chicago or NYU would go below 3.0, and Penn is a stickler for GPA's, so Mich might be your best shot other than NU.

BUT you're very close to a 3.0 so there's definitely a possibility. Also consider UVa!

How do you guys think a 3.1-3.2 with a 171-173 would fare for UVA ED if submitted in Late Dec/Early Jan? (basically as soon as December scores come out). I have seen that these numbers are a virtual lock in Sept/Oct so what are the chances at this later time?

Hi! After getting my scores back yesterday, I'm officially a splitter. :)
172 (up from 167 in June)/3.29 GPA
I'm a non traditional applicant. I had to work all through college for 40+ hrs a week tutoring others to pay off my subsidized tuition and to pay off some family debts (long story short, my originally well off family went bankrupt when I was 8 or 9, got screwed over by some bad lawyers during the process, and got into a lot of debt, which is also partly why I want to become a lawyer).
I have a grad degree with 3.63 GPA, though I know it's not going to be that relevant.
My absolute dream schools are NYU and Columbia, because I'm in NYC now, and my fiancé also works here. It's not impossible to relocate, but just not preferred. Do I have a shot at either of those schools? Which one should I ED at?
Another thing I'm thinking of is to retake in December. I was getting an average of 178 on PTs, so I could do better, but then I would be applying late. Assuming I can get a 178 in Dec (not at all guaranteed, but assume for the sake of argument), and applied when I get my score, would I have more chance of getting in NYU and Columbia than if I applied with my stats now?
Also, how do you guys get the fee waivers? Thank you for your advice, everyone!

Thou shall split :)

So far I have applied to HS, MVP, CCN, Cornell, UCLA, berk, usc, wustl, UT, Northwestern, Vandy.
I'm a 177+ 3.2+ AA male with work experience. Any recommendations on where else I should apply?
