3.25-179, so I think I have dem massive splitter credentials.

CCN, MVP, Vandy, Wash U, UCLA, and Irvine.

So far I've heard nothing back, but I'm hoping its because I've been pretty obvious on LSN and here that I'm EDing to Chicago, so other schools will just wait to hear whether I'm in there. And it's not really that hard for ad counselors to figure out who I am.

Basically applied only to schools I know I'd be happy to attend. Living in China made me a lot more comfortable with NYC, I figure if I can handle Beijing, I can handle NYC.

I know I should be applying to more schools, but I feel fairly confident I can make it into at least one of these schools, and the range is already broad enough for scholly negotiation. I just knew that schools like Cornell and Gtown just wouldn't fit me.

Good luck to everybody! Hopefully I'll have good news from Chicago next week.

I'm really hoping this as well, since I am also offer-less and a Chi EDer

checking in - also reposting this from the general admissions thread (posted there before I saw this one)

post subject: splitter/procrastinator looking for input(/reassurance)

so I waited wayyy too long to ask for recommendations (1st week of November). I told my 2 recommenders that sending the lors before 12/1 would be fine, but the sooner the better. both said they would send them within 2 weeks. neither letter has been processed yet, and I just sent emails to make sure they were sent.

while freaking out that my t14 chances are steadily slipping away, I had another thought-

Isn't it fairly common for schools to 'hold' splitter apps until all applications are received (especially the more extreme ones), regardless of when they apply? which would mean that a splitter applying late won't suffer as much. and since apps are down overall this cycle, maybe schools will wait longer to decide on borderline applicants b/c everything else is more unpredictable?

(the first point I think I actually believe, 2nd is a bit of a stretch...)

I'm most concerned about how this will affect my chances at Northwestern and Georgetown.

stats: 174, 3.1, 3yrsWE

other schools I'm planning on applying to:

columbia, nyu, chicago (<- just expecting small shot at the WLs, regardless of application time)
michigan, penn, virginia, gw, fordham, american, case western, brooklyn, cuny

thanks for any input & good luck to everyone!

Midway through my cycle, checking in here again. I'm a mild splitter at 3.5x/17x (both x's are mid/low), and I'm absolutely THRILLED with the way things have gone so far, with acceptances at Penn, NYU, WUSTL, Georgetown, Duke and Michigan. I'm surprised I've heard in the first wave of admits from so many, and I suppose it's some combination of early submission, lower total application numbers, and my softs (maybe?), that is pushing me over the edge.

Well, can't imagine I'll get a whole lot of movement between now and Christmas so figured I'd post up.
In: LSU
Waitlisted: UVA
held: Gtown (with interview)

Not a peep from anyone else, besides under review at Cornell (hoping that historical Native American love they have will swing my way).

Is the general sentiment that most splitters do get held, as stated above?

If you get T14 shutout, you should reapply. Numbers + NA are really strong

Hello fellow splitters, I don't think I've checked in yet so here I am.
Stats:170/3.3, non-urm, applied late October with October LSAT score

Results so far,
Pending: UVA, Vandy, USC, Penn, NU, Michigan, Cardozo, UCI, Hastings, Davis, Berkeley
In: W&L with 60k scholly
Rejected: None
Held/deferred: Georgetown (w/ interview invitation), UT, Cornell
Waitlist: UMN (no "Why UMN")

I also ED'ed to UCLA so I should be hearing back from them very soon.

A little disappointed with Cornell's turnout but not too surprised with everything else so far. More details can be found in my profile/LSN page. I can imagine that it's going to be a long cycle for some of us but all I can say is stay optimistic! Good luck everyone!

UPDATE
In at UCLA!!! My cycle is over! Good luck to my fellow splitters that are still waiting, may you all get into your dream schools 8)

Cornell really busted my balls by that deferral. UT was expected with the GPA floor

Oh yeah, and for more context, I applied just before Halloween with an Oct 2011 LSAT score. Again, see my LSN link for more information.

Wondering this as well. I remember reading that schools sometimes hold splitter apps until they get a good sense of their incoming class and can determine what their needs are (higher LSAT scores hopefully). Is there any truth to this/evidence?

164/3.05 here. Not an extreme splitter like many people itt (unfortunately), but hopefully good things happen. i've been offered 60k at depaul and 66k at slu so far. Still waiting on WUSTL, SMU, tulane, UIUC (who knows, but would love to go), Loyola-Chi, Chicago Kent, Wake. I was also waitlisted at Notre Dame where I applied ED. I would love to go to ND, but maybe an ED to UIUC would have been more conservative. I just saw someone with like a 164/3.15 get UIUC with 45k with an ED...hopefully they give me that kinda loving.

chill wrote:Checking in. I think I might be the most dramatic split on TLS this cycle (though crumpets is pretty close to me). 179/2.6. Anyone else around that?

In: Iowa, William & Mary
WL, then withdrew: Miami (I assume YP or my low GPA, but I don't actually want to live in Florida, so no big)
Out: nowhere yet, but I assume Columbia's just waiting to make sure I get that rejection on Christmas Day itself.
Held: Georgetown.

I applied to a lot of schools and am hoping my cycle runs well. I certainly have my preferences-- funny how interviewing with a school just makes them that much more appealing to you...

Sweet split. Good luck on your cycle!

Is it just me or does it seem like the reverse splitters are faring better than the high lsat splitters this cycle?

I agree. Hoping this means that we'll get some love closer to the end of the cycle.

I'm hoping for this too. Seeing all those 3.1 cutoff marks on LSN is driving me bonkers.

In at UMD and GMU
Out at UT, UVA, and GULC (ED)
WL at GWU and Fordham

I haven't heard anything this week besides a follow-up phone call, but perhaps I will. I'm also IP, but I don't know if that affects admissions at all.

Updated for fall grades: I'm around a 3.2 now. My school GPA went up .06 and my LSDAS may increase more because of A+ as 4.3 (managed to get at least 2 A+s) and one of my professors agreed to write an additional LOR/eval. Praying that it makes a difference...

Also got rejected from Cornell and BC right before winter break... :/

I'm a reverse splitter: 3.99 / 166

So far:

In: UCLA, USC, Cornell, UC Davis

Waiting: NU, Penn, Columbia, NYU, UC Hastings, Berkeley, Michigan, UVA, Duke, Stanford, GULC, Chicago

Interviewed with GULC, scheduled an interview for NU after the New Year

Wasn't expecting the break the T14 before Christmas...but it happened, so I consider myself very lucky.

Fairly big split. 164/2.25 (2.3 once transcript updates). Several (5) years distance from the terrible grades, unique w/e, 30+ years old.

In: Richmond, UNH
WL: W&L
ED, held over to RD: CU Boulder
Pending: Wake, Wisconsin, Maryland, Fordham, W&M, UNM, Denver, Maine

Richmond got back to me first, their office is great and their personal touches moved them up the list, I will be happy to go there, but CU is still top choice (CO resident and wife and I want to stay here).
