Wait List & LOCI's

Postby fingersxd » Tue Apr 26, 2011 10:53 pm

I'm on a number of waitlists and each of the schools has already received my first LOCI. From all that I've read, it seems that once a month (or so) is about as often as you should send an actual LOCI (whereas phone calls, etc. can be more common).

First, is that the general consensus, or have I misunderstood everything?

Second, what exactly are we supposed to say in a 2nd (or 3rd LOCI)? I have no news to report (no promotion, grades, published articles, etc.) but obviously am still interested in attending. I'm not sure what I can say beyond a canned one paragraph "don't forget about me, I still love School X" -- any advice would be really appreciated.

I've sent one LOCI pretty much right after the WL and then every month I'll email to tell them of my continued interest and show that I'm seriously interested by mentioning current news involving the school. Mulitple LOCIs is overkill.

Thanks. That's exactly what I needed to know. I've sent follow up e-mails, but was wondering if an extra LOCI would help set me apart in a positive way. It sounds like it would probably be more annoying than anything though since I wouldn't have much more to say, so I guess I'll stick with the e-mails.
