I think he's referring to last week's email that said they would pull a lot "late [this] week."

They may have, and it could just be that they just pulled a bunch of people who don't really post much.

Oh by "release off the waitlist" par12 meant admit people off the waitlist? Who knows. It was a pretty vague statement.

They could have admitted a hand full of people today who don't post here, but who knows if they will accept. Either way, those of us still waiting definitely still have a chance, if not later today then later in the summer. USC seems to use their waitlist a lot.

Edit: For example, just from searching their posts I know that the person who started this thread got in off the USC and UCLA waitlists and placed a deposit at UCLA so we shall see.

I wonder if there is any use visiting the school this week to try to put in a good word? From last year's thread there still seemed to be a fair number of waitlist-acceptances right up until early-August.

I made an appointment to visit the school this week. I doubt everyone who got a call on friday will end up attending...
