Got in off the waitlist on thursday! This is 3 detailed and heartfelt LOCIs, one extra letter of rec, 2 responses to waitlist emails, video interview, and a campus visit after my initial USC application. 3.6/167 I am very excited and will 100% accept. The problem is that I have not yet gotten any email since the phone call :-(

I'm going to send an email to withdraw pretty soon.

Keep in contact with them, maybe give 'em a call, be personable while showing interest, and find your way out of the "Do I want to attend?" quandary and make up your mind. If you decide you want it, even with sticker, then keep showing that balance of reasonable interest/being personable and don't stop until your chances for this cycle have been completely eliminated.

After talking to an admissions officer I learned that it is NOT USC policy to reconsider someone for scholarship after 1L grades. that means that I could be in top 5% and still be paying sticker. The only way to get a better deal would be to transfer....

I just withdrew today. Also, they told me that they're officially withdrawing applications of those who have not paid the seat deposit today, so my guess is that they'll be admitting a few more people off of the waitlist starting next week... Good luck to everyone still waiting!

If you're accepted as an xfer student to a better school, which you prob would be if you're in the top 5%, I would imagine they would offer you some $$$ to stay.

But, as I'm sure you already know, it's not something to count on or really even think much about at all.

That's irrelevant to my question. Notice that I didn't ask "will I get in"?

I understood your question correctly. There will definitely be movement. Just wondering where your numbers lie given your interest.

Low 160s LSAT, ~3.6 GPA, Non-URM Hispanic

I highly doubt I have a chance, but I've seen stranger things happen.

You have a chance but it will be tough this late in the cycle...you'd need some URMs to withdraw which is quite unpredictable...if you could bump your LSAT to a 166 you'd have a good shot, and with a 167 you're looking at some $. Just my two cents.

Hey guys, getting towards the end of the wire here. USC is my first choice, I'm waitlisted with a 167 LSAT and a 3.5 GPA from Northwestern (just graduated early this March!). Do you guys think I still have a chance of getting in late, or is it time to hang it up and start looking for my apartment at Indiana? Perhaps another LOCI is needed?

Did anyone get an "interest" email recently? I got an email that was relatively vague in that it didn't straight up say "congratulations, you've been accepted off the waitlist!" It said that they were finalizing their class and that there was still room for me.

I withdrew from USC this afternoon in favor of UCLA... All this after being waitlisted since April 1st of all days.

You've been waiting for a while.

It seems better than your deal at Loyola.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
