This is silly speculation. Of course there is a self-selection bias. The waitlist is not going to be 900 people. At the same time, I wish someone would call and ask how large the waitlist is on average.

Don't use LSN for stats purposes.

It's good for some trend spotting as well.

I said TLS is skewed towards better apps not LSN.
LSN is too unreliable to take as hard numbers, with people putting "holds" as waitlists and people bullshitting because their friends view their profiles or they want to hide who they are etc.
Absolute speculation from a gambling perspective. I'm not claiming accuracy. Just from what I've seen online and heard personally from students of past cycles I'm putting it at +300.

I will go around 3-400. The difference between admits and matrics last year were 324 (559/833). I doubt that they will need 300 on the WL because they are not going to under-yield (withdraw + defer) by more than 100. However they have to account for people not staying on WL.

What if they they undershot their WL goal, that's why they are still WL today (and no mass rejection yet).

I like (and dislike) speculating. Any one bought coffee futures? ;)

TBH, I prefer dabbling in Tulip bulb futures.

If you could somehow figure out a way to generate a new bubble (without generating jail time) I will go all in!

Harvard should do a Cambridge version of "bumfights" to see who gets admitted.

Count me in as well. For people in the 99th percentile of the LSAT I'm in the 99th percentile of size.

No weight classes. There's only so many seats available and I need all the help I can get.

Hi all. Sorry we had to meet this way, but good luck! I've done a quick pivot on the data in Dany's spreadsheet (which is awesome, btw). Hopefully this will be of help to someone. 25/50/75 are from last year's class. I've split it up by URM and non-URM to enable people to see where they stand in relation to others with similar applications. People who did not answer the URM question are excluded from the pivot.

This is horrifying.

Also, here's to being notified next week & to Harvard having a weak yield cycle.

This is horrifying.

That chart actually gives a pretty good insight though into how HLS admissions work. I mean I know its hardly a representative sample, but I mean it supports the obvious idea that if you are above both 75%iles you are pretty much in (given the lack of such candidates) which is not something that can be said about Yale or Stanford. Also, the fact that every waitlisted person with above 75%ile LSATs is below 25%ile GPA would suggest that LSAT matters a little bit more. Nothing shocking, but its nice to have some evidence...

Waitlisted, Accepted
2008,2009,2010 combined
4: 177-180/ 3.7-8
2: 177-180/<3.7
1: 175-176/3.9+
2: 175-176/3.7-8
3: 173-174/3.9+
4: 173-174/3.7-8
1: 173-174 3.6x
11: 171-172 with a 3.9x
3: 171-172 <3.9
7: 167-170/3.9+
2: 169-170/3.7-8
3: <165

To me this says Lsat matters LESS to WLs, not more.
