Tell your friend to tell JR to look at my file...law_monkey wrote:Just fyi someone I work with just got a JR1 yesterday. He said that JR told him they'll be making a couple offers by the end of this week. So there has been movement. I don't know him that well though, so I didn't feel comfortable asking him for stats.

a friend who was planning to come to HLS just got off the SLS waitlist and is deciding in the next few days - so a spot will be opening up at one of the two.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2011
created an alt because i want to remain anon but also felt that i should report that I was admitted off of the waitlist yesterday. Received the JR1 email wed. morn asking to discuss my app, he called me later that day and asked me several questions: why harvard? what do i want to do with my law degree? where am i currently enrolled? how likely would i be to attend if admitted? He then said that he would be going back to the committee and they would be making a few offers by the end of the week. He called me the next afternoon and offered me a spot. I will be attending. I would share my numbers if i thought they would be a helpful gauge, but I am a very unusual applicant and not useful for comparison purposes. Best of luck to those of you waiting. Theres still hope!

Congrats! My co-worker I mentioned earlier also received a JR2 (last week), so the movement is still going.AlwaysHungry wrote:created an alt because i want to remain anon but also felt that i should report that I was admitted off of the waitlist yesterday. I was bored and lurking back at last year's Stanford and Harvard threads. It's surprising how dead they are compared to last year at this time. I think last year around this time a bunch of people got wiped off the wait list. How many of you are actually sticking around? I resigned myself to NYU already. Good luck.

I'll squat on it til they kick me off. However, I'm local so its ez for me to do so. It wouldn't be a big inconvenience even if they called the day before class starts.Stoic wrote:I was bored and lurking back at last year's Stanford and Harvard threads. Still hanging in, as much as it would suck to move after 2 weeks of classes at CU.

That's pretty crazy to wait list people for 3 to 4 months with no correspondence.

How many people are left (has there been any cull)? It's been eerily quiet this year compared to previous years...

Do people really think they still have a chance off the wait list? And if so, are their hopes founded?traum wrote:How many people are left (has there been any cull)? It's been eerily quiet this year compared to previous years...

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2011
Someone got in last year on August 9, and at least 3 others got JR1s that week (I don't think any updated with a JR2 post), and another TLSer got in sometime in late August.BackToTheOldHouse wrote:Do people really think they still have a chance off the wait list? Obviously for 99% of the WL it's not happening, but a few may get in. Best of luck to the people still able/willing to change schools this late!

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2011
This sounds like you've hopped off the wait list. How many people who originally posted in here are still riding this wait list out? People at UChicago probably have the advantage in that regard.Dany wrote:Someone got in last year on August 9, and at least 3 others got JR1s that week (I don't think any updated with a JR2 post), and another TLSer got in sometime in late August.BackToTheOldHouse wrote:Do people really think they still have a chance off the wait list?
