Texas Waitlist 2011
I thought it'd be nice to have a thread for everyone who is waitlisted at The University of Texas so we can talk about updates on the waitlist and all the desperate things we would do to get accepted at UT.
I was waitlisted on 2/15 as a TX resident, and I'm going to ride it out until the bitter end. How about everyone else?

TX resident or no?crit_racer wrote:WL on the same day. Sent a snail mail LOCI and getting an additional LOR.
I emailed a LOCI yesterday. Deposits are due April 15th, right? So hopefully we'll see a little movement at the end of April/early May.

I will absolutely go if admitted, as well. I'll go dig around in last year's thread to find some info about waitlist action and post here when I find something.crit_racer wrote:yeah, TX resident. Will definitely go if admitted. Any info on past waitlists?

I was accepted, but doubt I'll attend. Hopefully it will free up a spot for one of you guys. I'm in the northeast, so gulc makes more sense for me...and they are both t14 schools now!

You were accepted from the waitlist already or just a regular admit? Congrats and good luck at GULC!masterthearts wrote:I was accepted, but doubt I'll attend. Last year's minimal waitlist threads...

and

There's hardly any info out there.

The Texas waitlist has been so silent this summer. Who is still hanging on with me?

Re: Texas Waitlist 2011
it probably wouldn't hurt to send them a "LOCI" again, that basically says hey, i'd withdraw from my current school at any point and pay sticker if you offered me admissions. I think one of the main reasons i got in was because of an expectation of me accepting the offer. i applied early decision, was rejected, emailed them about being reconsidered after raising my lsat, was waitlisted, sent in a loci emphasizing the million different reasons why UT was my number 1.
hope this helps..

Re: Texas Waitlist 2011
Hello all. I am still currently on the waitlist as well and stumbled across this thread. I talked to the university this morning. She did not sound very excited to deal with me as I am sure most of you have been acquiring about your status as well. She told me that all non Texas residents have been removed from the waitlist. Also she informed me that around 100 people remain on the waiting list with no order selected. I am not sure exactly how accurate this is but it is the information I was given. I am currently planning on attending either SMU or Cornell but have been frustrated at the recent budget cuts as they have affected my grants. What are the rest of you doing while you remain on the waitlist? I am new to this whole thing and a very late arriver to the whole process so any information would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for the info smith. i think they're tired of my 4 loci's i've already sent, haha. i think more than anything your new LSAT score made the difference with regards to acceptance.smithc2011 wrote:it probably wouldn't hurt to send them a "LOCI" again, that basically says hey, i'd withdraw from my current school at any point and pay sticker if you offered me admissions. also, interesting that there's only 100 left being considered. anyone else hear of any news? i got the standard waitlist update email they send the 1st of each month.
