I know there is probably a posting out there somewhere, but we are getting down to the wire for the first deposit deadlines.

So I am curious.....waitlist movement, anyone? If so, where?

Most seems to happen around April/May, typically after the deposit deadlines so schools have a solid idea of how many seats they can fill. The UIUC dean said initial movement should take place April 4th, Cornell will sometime in May - this is when they put together the official summer waitlist for everyone on reserve (and I'm assuming admit some students on reserve)

I can only speak to "preferred" or "priority" waitlists, but Duke and GULC are moving

So everyone doing the same thing as me and ready to tear your hair out at the suspense? I see that there have been over 100 viewings since I posted this.

I had Chinease yesterday and the fortune cookie said, "Rome was not built in a day. Be patient."

Guess I am going to be putting down a couple deposits and riding out the waitlists. This cycle just seems to be getting longer by the minute.

Anyone think the supposed drop in applications might translate into more waitlist movement this year? I think the top schools will probably be less affected by this, but I've heard of some lower T20-30 schools getting less apps.

I have heard that the lower tier schools did receive less applications, but to the contrary I was also told DePaul and Loyola were sitting at well over 6k apps before the 1st of the year.

I think waitlists are going to be used a little differently to be more strategic with placements this year.

At least I am praying that is the case!

One of the attorneys I work with knows the Dean of Admissions at DePaul and she was informed of such. Apparently Chicago schools are up on the amount of apps compared to most other areas.

I did not hear it from the horse's mouth, but I trust her word.
