Waitlisted & Later Admitted with a Scholarship

Postby ash8309 » Wed Mar 23, 2011 1:14 pm

Not me, but I'm wondering if any others have had that experience? I am waitlisted at some schools that I would love to attend if admitted, but would need a scholly to consider (BC, BU, U of Colorado, U of Wisconsin).

So, has anyone been waitlisted and then subsquently admitted with a good scholarhip?

i know someone (blindmelon maybe?) said he was waitlisted at BU, and admitted with $60k or something. so it does happen, but probably not for people with really marginal numbers.

That, or sometimes a school will wait list a person with a median score and then realize they are about to lose their median and provide that person with a scholarship to attend. I think that happened with SMU last year.

Pretty sure Minnesota did that last year very late in the cycle for a few people (August).

I was waitlisted at Texas. When they admitted me, they offered me the same merit scholarship everyone else who had been accepted in the first round got with my numbers.
