It's what you hope half this thread will be doing 4 years from now, otherwise you would not bother opening this thread. Besides 50/50 is not bad odds.

Posting in this thread again, because I can... and because I am frustrated.

joining this thread too. Got into my dream/reach school and will be paying the sticker price ED in December. Still absolutely thrilled to do it -- now that its getting closer I'm starting to realize how serious a situation I'm getting into.

Lets all get great jobs and pay it off quickly :)

Whoa, there's another Utah Jazz fan in this forum besides me? Maybe nobody else wants to admit it? I try to avoid the sports forum on TLS because I already waste too much time on TLS already...

From my understanding, as long as you don't take out private loans and do well enough to secure any reputable legal position (including 60k small law), you can LRAP(for public interest folks) or IBR your way to at least lead a normal life.

There's a bit of optimism on the state of IBR for current students, so I think we'll all be okay unless somebody here is paying sticker price for, say, Syracuse.

Haven't met the opposite yet.
Columbia, here I come.
*spins wheel* Come on Big Money!

Which is why I am opting for the much better school at sticker - I would rather suffer a few (!) extra dollars in payments rather than missed opportunities and what-ifs.
If I wanted to play it safe, I wouldn't leave my job...

Stick it out till the bitter end. Even if I graduate with tons of debt and no Biglaw prospects I can always go back to finance and securities. However, I want to at least come back with a JD.

I have $25k/year offers from BC and UC-Davis but would happily go to USC at sticker if I got accepted. Someone reassure me that this isn't a colossally stupid decision. Someone...?

I would pay sticker for any T14 school but that's not really in my future, so....lol

However, I think that paying sticker minus 15k to 20k at a school ranked ~50 is actually a dumber decision, and one that I'm going to make.

+1. Partially why I was considering Loyola on a good scholarship. Worst case scenario you walk a few miles and become a Santa Monica hobo (the most prestigous of hobo positions as they have the highest quality of living).
