I can't beat you, but I can match you.
17 apps submitted first week of December
8 WLs
1 rejection
3 admits (though only 1 I'm really considering)

3 Waitlists - 1 of which was a safety school (wtf?), another one was my #1 choice.
2 Accepts - Only one of which I would actually attend
1 Reject - Berkeley (big surprise there....not)
Still waiting on 5 others so we'll see.

on 5 wait lists, considering withdrawing from 2...
question about LOCIs: How long are they generally? Better to send one longer one (~3 pages double spaced) or two shorter ones?
Thanks.

I'm on six now, I think. Pretty sure I'm not going to law school next year.

My impression is that you're going to want to send a couple (at least) to your top choice, about every month is what UCLA recommends. Also, 3 pages seems unnecessary, although with double spacing maybe it's okay. But that brings up the question: when do people ever double space letters? Doesn't seem to be proper formatting for a formal letter.

I don't plan to write any more than a page. You don't want to be resending your application essay every month.

I recently got rejected from Berkeley and waitlisted at UCLA. I'm going to fight for it like no other and pray I get in.

To the OP: Sing us a song, you're the piano man, sing us a song tonight, well we're all in the mood for a melody, and you've got us feeling alright.
That song seems to fit the mood here. Only two for me, UNC and Wake, but since I only applied to four schools...

Wait what? Waitlisted people usually don't have to put down seat deposits do they? I was under the impression that riding a WL was almost always free?

Thank God for this thread. The exact support group I've been looking for
5 WLs- 3 of them among my top choices
1 Accept
1 Reject
Still have 11 apps pending. 1 of them an auto ding, the rest are borderline Waitlists according to LSN graphs. I'm behind some of you here, but may take the lead soon!

I've had 5 so far and all have been free. Would be crazy if they wanted you to make a deposit without even having a spot for you. Doesn't really make any sense.

I'm on 8 WL's too...and expecting more.
Edit: scratch that. 7 WL and one Held app! What a morale boost!

I've certainly never heard of a school asking for money to stay on the WL. I think somebody's been dipping into the peyote...

What a shame. You have a solid LSAT and GPA. What's up w/the discrepancy between your LSDAS GPA and actual?

I arrived in Philly to visit Villanova (accepted) and Temple (undecided).
Got to my hotel, unpacked, turned on my laptop, and after about an hour of browsing the net, I randomly decided to check my Temple status...........
WAITLISTED.
The night before the morning I was scheduled to visit the place. On top of it all, I ended up really liking the school during my visit. The admissions officer told me I probably won't hear back with a potential acceptance until at least June 15.

Bummer. At least they'll know who you are when your file comes up for review again.
