I was waitlisted at 4. As soon as i got them- i decided not to ride them out. I didnt want to string it along- so i cut the chord quick.

Anyone considering taking the June LSAT to try to get off a waitlist?

How much thought are you guys giving to your waitlisted schools? Hard to get excited about my current choices, when I still have those waitlists and those tiny, improbable chances in the back of my head.

I know exactly what you mean. I've got some great options, but it's hard to choose one of them when my heart's not really that into it.

I can't decide if I think WL is the least desirable outcome.

On one side, it doesn't allow you to move on and choose another school. Staying on a WL requires a deposit at a backup school or the backup plan of waiting a year. It delays your decision.

On the other side, a WL feels a little better on the ego, and there's a slight glimmer of hope.

I'm on three WL's and one hold. Don't see how you can think a WL is the least desirable outcome or "Hell". At the very least it means you still have a chance and, in my mind, continues to be preferable to an outright rejection. Not knowing is not the easiest thing to deal with, but it is important to place it in perspective.

Thanks for writing this!! You're so right, there is still hope. And it's not over. I've been rejected to two of my top schools, and in the back of my mind I still think about those schools. The outcome is final, there is no hope. There is no wait and see. The opportunities to further tango with those schools are over!
However, I did receive 5 waitlists and two are from schools that I so want to attend...it's not over...not yet anyways.

While I for sure don't have the most WL here, I still personally feel like I'm in WL hell!!

Columbia
Duke
Northwestern (hold)
USC
GW

UCLA might as well be WL, I've been waiting long enough!

PS How the f am I waitlisted at such a wide range of schools... #4 to #20?

7 Waitlists as of this am.

At this point I'm just laughing at these TTTs WLing me b/c I already got into my reach! My scores aren't high enough to be YPed at these schools either.

EDITED FROM:

WL at 3 out of 7 so far. (As far as the others go: accepted at one, one sent a letter today, and still IR at two others.)

TO (on the same day as OP):

WL at 3 out of 7 so far. (As far as the others go: accepted at two and still IR at two others.)

Checking in.

Definitely in WL hell....got my 9th "decision but not really" email.

Starting to make me paranoid that something's torpedoing my app that I'm not noticing.

1 acceptance (thought it was safety, but not feels like the only rock I can grab on), 2 helds, 4 wl, 1 un-official wl (i am speaking to you NYU), 1 rejection!

So for all practical purposes, out of 9 schools applied, I am WL at 7!

What a great year...

The general consensus is that if you haven't heard from them by now, you're either WL or a reject, right?

Fantastic....guess who's left?
