Haha, forgot about that. Thanks :D
My situation is similar . . . I sent my email about two weeks ago and haven't heard anything. UC Davis is apparently out of money already--I'm worried UCLA is too. Hopefully, spring break is the reason for the silence.
I didn't get a response after sending mine in and then got a hefty scholly email and letter in the mail about two weeks later. Give it time. But I guess if it's coming down to the wire for your decision, definitely call them or follow up with the Dean or the Dir of Admiss.

I've still got a week or two before it's going to be a problem, but I want to start withdrawing from schools and figure out where I'm going.

I have my plane tickets bought, but I'm really hesitant about going now. I can't rent a car and I'm not feeling great about expensive cab rides/awful public transportation, plus loooong flights (east coaster).

If any TLSer wants to get together to split cab fares etc PM me, I'd be down with that.

Are you staying close to campus? I know LAs public transit isnt especially great but I took it all through UG (at USC) and it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. You can get where you're going, it'll just take a little longer

Anyone going to the admit reception on campus? I'm pretty excited about it :) if you RSVP 'd, did you receive info about the reception? I didn't get anything so far, and I thought we were supposed to receive it last week or so.
Thanks!

If I attend, I probably won't have a car.

Ditto... and kind of freaking out about it.

Hoping to be pleasantly surprised by the public transportation situation this weekend.

Has anybody written a letter asking for more scholarship money? If so has UCLA responded? Its been over a week since I wrote to them. I got a confirmation of my email but no decision yet. Is it a good sign that they are taking their time? I am just starting to get nervous because its almost time for me to put down deposits and money can be a game-changer.

I did, they emailed me and said they were going to re-review and get back to me this week. I will let you know what the result ends up being.

I was accepted too and was here for undergrad. Don't worry about transportation. First pubilc trans around UCLA is awesome because of the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus and the Culver city busses. The blue bus is only 25 cents and goes to a lot of places u'd like to visit. Secondly, there are a ton of zipcars on campus. 8 dollars an hour for car, insurance and unlimited gas. It's damn cheap if you splitting the cars up with friends too. For example get a carpool facebook group to go shopping together so you split the car costs a bit or go further away. Parking in westwood can be a real bitch so zipcar actually is more convenient because you don't have to think about parking too. I was undergrad so if you have any campus questions you can ask me, or living questions.

I can echo this. I was very pleasantly surprised by the public transportation around UCLA. I took the Big Blue Bus from campus to several places around Westwood and Santa Monica, as well as to the airport, and it was great. A major bus stop is about a three minute walk from the law school building, I never waited more than a couple of minutes for a bus, they were super clean, I always got a seat, and I really appreciated the $1 fares (I guess $.25 with the UCLA card). I'm no longer worried about not having a car on campus.

Was anyone else at admitted students day on Sunday? I have to say, I really loved the environment. :D
