Per my recollection...

He had like a 173 LSAT and I think he got into Columbia ED. He didn't withdraw so every other school blacklisted him, and once the rubble cleared... he was left with Pepperdine.

That has got to be one of the most dumb bunny thing I have heard. I don't think people realize the ED criteria when they apply, but this? this ranks up there with just plain lack of common sense

The ethical questions that will be raised on the bar examination. I still sweat because in some schools (schools that ask for "crimes") I did not mention my civil infraction.

You see most of you are going to end up 150-200k in debt, and at 7 per cent interest, your looking at 12-14k of your money going to interest alone. Even at the elite schools, half of you wont even make it to one of the top 250 firms. Most of you that do make it big firm will flame out because of the hours and because of the partners thats treat you like shit. And then you will be left with the debt. So I am actually grateful Columbia and the rest of the top schools told me to fuck off, because now I can focus my life on things that won't take 3 years of my life and 60k a year of my money. And at the end of the day, I'm going to be just as ahead as the asshole Harvard law grad because unlike most people I have great connections, people skills, and I am not naive with my money. Law school is a total waste of time unless you 1) have the money to pay the tuiton or scholarships, 2) Go to a great school, and 3) know that you are already going to love practicing law, have some experience in it already, and can stand doing 80 hrs a week of document review and all the other bs discovery work the firm demands for the first five years of your employment. The only way you get ahead is if you suck all the partners cocks (there are few vagina partners even though this is the 21st century), never screw up, and are just outright lucky. So peace out law, im moving on.

Your cycle is going exactly as it should. This isn't a "worst" cycle, or even an irregular cycle

You couldn't have possibly sent Fordham a 163/3.7 for FT and expected an acceptance...

You got 105k at UCLA, that is better than sticker at Berkeley IMO. Certainly not going to get an offer from Cornell that compares.

I expected a WL, not an outright rejection.

This thread is titled "Worst Cycle of the Year", not "ITT: Disappointed About Mediocre Cycle" or "Post Here if You Were Borderline and Didn't Get In"

Let's see some more disasters, people (e.g., 170+ who were shut out of T20, etc)

:( Sorry to hear about your cycle man. Our LSAT scores are only 3 points apart, and my GPA is slightly lower than yours, but my cycle has gone a lot differently.

It's pretty irritating how much a few points can change your fate so dramatically.

That can't be real. Were you hit with a murder charge? Actually, that still wouldn't explain it. That'd be one hell of a diversity statement, and I'm sure some of those schools would bite. I repeat, that can't be real.

??? That sounds reasonable to me.

It all makes perfect sense. He waited till really late to apply. He should not have expected to get into a T14 with those numbers those numbers and all the lower-ranked schools that waitlisted him would have probably accepted him if he applied earlier. Furthermore, the criminal record probably had something to do with it. The only one that even slightly surprises me is Cardozo, which may be explained by the fact that the app was not received until Feb 4th.

Some of his applications were sent out in early January, and I don't think that qualifies as "really late". This is coming from someone who applied to schools in January as well . I'm still quite surprised by that cycle.

It actually is that late. See my LSN profile for reference.

True. I have seen the negative impact of applying in January first-hand, although I was still accepted to some solid schools (relative to my range).

I'm not saying that this is a fantastic cycle, but bloodbath? A 3.0 + $$ at a T20 is not a bloodbath. You don't get to go through UG getting as many Bs as As and then expect spectacular results. @Adjudicator - not a knock on you, just saying, good luck

For reference, though, with a 3.1 and 167 (and no extraordinary anything), I was in with money at both W&L and Minnesota. So those two do really seem odd to me.
