Lock it and I will keep it up.super6 wrote:It got vandalized again so whoever is doing it is pretty persistent. If keeps up we might have to lock it down so only approved people can edit, then there is accountability because they will have to be logged in to edit.
Also, since we had no denials and one defer, R is now rejected (denied), and D is deferred, it auto-colors to orange.

I (think I) changed it so you have to be logged into a google account to edit for the time being. This should still mean anyone can edit but if someone vandalizes it then we'll have their email. If anyone doesn't have a google account they should crawl out from under the rock they live in and get one, or PM you or starry or myself to add the info, but getting an account is a lot easier than that.r6_philly wrote:Lock it and I will keep it up.super6 wrote:It got vandalized again so whoever is doing it is pretty persistent. Mark up another victory! In @ Berkeley via email today! (I'm abroad in a really rural location, which I believe is why they chose to email rather than call)
In: Berkeley, Penn, Michigan, Duke, Northwestern, Georgetown
Held @ Harvard
Awaiting: Stanford, Columbia, NYU, U.Va, Cornell

Also, the thing I changed on the spreadsheet didn't work how I thought it did, you have to request access from the owner to edit it now, this could be annoying for starry, but I suppose he or she can change it back if that's the case.

If you get a great offer from a similarly ranked school, of course. From what TLS tells me that's all it takes...r6_philly wrote:You think I can try to negotiate that up to a full?pereira6 wrote:TEXAS.

You really really should throw an app out to Illinois. They impress me more and more each day.

I am still struggling to send out the NU one ... I think I can get decent money but Berkeley won't take NU for a match. I think I would entertain a full ride from UT, UCLA or USC, but nothing below (those 3 has weather going for them).pereira6 wrote: If you get a great offer from a similarly ranked school, of course. I am still hoping for the ultimate 170 reach of HYS...

tried to open the spreadsheet (signed in to google) and it opened as view only, did we decide whether we're leaving it like that or opening up again? if the former, who should I PM with updates?

Hi, can I live with you when I'm unemployed and trying to avoid debtors' prison?LawwwYeaa wrote:Hi fellow 170'ers. Frequent lurker, infrequent poster here. I was originally planning ED to UVA in the fall with my (3.43 Ivy /170), but the doomsayers have gotten to me. After exploring TLS, doing more research online, and soul-searching on my own I've decided to pursue a teaching career.
I expect I'll be able to sleep better at night as a teacher. I'm just afraid I'll regret this in 20 years when I'm bored as hell in some metro suburb raising a family and wondering what could have been if I had gone the law route. Sigh.
Best of luck to you who scored in the bottom of the top!
Good luck; the world needs more teachers and fewer lawyers anyway.

161/170, 3.9 here. Anyone else got into Duke Priority Reserve? I'm going into day 9 without hearing from them.

Re: Club 170
Well I thought that, after unchecking the "Allow anyone to edit (no sign-in required)" box, it would only let people who are signed in edit. Turns out it only allowed approved signed in people to edit. This was in response to it being vandalized twice in a day. Vandalism isn't hard to revert, though, so I would opt for having starry (because unchecking that locked me out, too) just check that box again and returning to the cat-and-mouse game of revert vandalism because I know that I wouldn't want to get a PM every time someone gets a status update.texaskk wrote:tried to open the spreadsheet (signed in to google) and it opened as view only, did we decide whether we're leaving it like that or opening up again? if the former, who should I PM with updates?
On an unrelated note Valparaiso sent me another email today. That would be like me calling Harvard every week to check my status. They're a little over-ambitious.

Agh r6 don't torture me! Dude I'd love to go to ASWs for every single one of these schools, however my term of service out here (Peace Corps) doesn't end until the summer, so I'll be missing all of them. I'll have to go with $$/my gut on this, which makes the decision-making process that much more agonizing.r6_philly wrote:Congrats!
