Imho, there's no harm in trying. The worst Penn can say is no. They won't take away your current scholarship offer for having the presumption to ask. I assume NU/Duke gave you more than Penn?
I want to ask for more $$ from UVA, but Cornell gave me the same amount and Georgetown has given me less. I don't have any acceptances from higher-ranked schools to use for leverage at this point, so UVA is actually the best offer both money- and rank-wise that I have. I don't know what else to say except
please???
Yeah I figured it couldn't hurt to try and bring down the amount I'll be taking out in loans.
I talked to the Financial Aid guy from Penn because they gave me $0 merit (decent amount of financial-need based though) which seems baffling in comparison to the amounts I received from NU and Duke. I know they're slightly lower in the rankings but there's a huge disparity between their offers and 0...

Duke doesn't give give out need based aid. It is more useful to compare total gift aid than stressing over components of it. They could have give you the same amount in merit, but no need (like every other school).

So where are we going, club 170? Most deposit deadlines just passed, did they not? Paid mine at UT Austin. Still WL'd at UVA and Duke but I wouldn't go without money.

I am tipping constantly between Columbia and Berkeley. Waiting now just to hear from HS, though both radically change my decision.
Also, a lot of deadlines occur in the April 29-May 2 range.

Found out via status checker that I was WL'd at UNC 10 days ago. Never got an email or letter and it took them 4 months to arrive at that decision. I'm very unimpressed with UNC admissions.

That's awesome! I remember when we were anxiously biting our nails over CLS back in January. I never did hear back about my CLS decision, but it's nice to know that you're headed to Morningside Heights. Take good care of my alma mater for me!

Woo! My cycle is also (sort of) officially over! WL at Harvard/Stanford this week, so I'll be at Columbia this fall if the others don't call.

Yes sir! Gonna send in my deposit this weekend and then I have to notify them by June of my reasons for deferring.

this club 170 member is headed to Berkeley. Completely unbelievable to me with my shitty GPA. Still pretty convinced they made a mistake.

Awesome! I find it very interesting how you get WL at S and Ding at H and I got the reverse. I'd love to find out how this admissions game works!

Pretty sure I'm headed to NYU. Really enjoyed ASW and think the school has great options and support for my career interests. Such a good feeling to have these opportunities ahead of me!

I was a victim of waitlist hell too!
And we'll both be attending Penn in the fall, good deal.
