I just tried looking at a few of the recommendations but I know nothing about the city. What's considered close to campus? Is it a bad idea to live close based on safety and such? Anyone who knows the area well have any thoughts on where the best place to live is???Kwax wrote:Booked my room as well. If you are going apartment hunting, be sure to take a look at the Wharton guide posted on the ASW. It's packed with info.

No worries. I also think r6 posted a pamplet produced by Penn's safety office that highlights safe areas, areas patrolled by Penn police, and Penn's campus itself. Very helpful as a starting pointeaa1537 wrote:thanksssss, guess I was a little lazy

I'm not really familiar with the Penn area, but I went to USC for undergrad which is notoriously in a pretty horrid neighborhood, and we never had any problems with safety as long as you lived within a few blocks of campus.slax wrote:No worries. According to the admitted students page:deathviaboredom wrote:Yo - does anyone know what the timeline re: merit scholarship looks like?
This week we will continue our named scholarship evaluations; formal notifications in that regard will be communicated very soon to the early candidates. (Again - this process is ongoing and will not end until mid-April. This includes reevaluations, new evaluations, etc.) Other merit- and need-based analyses will be rolled out in early March.

Ohhh man. March is going to be HUGE for financial aid packages. I just hope that at the end of it all I come out with a decent Penn package!!!TLSNYC wrote:According to the admitted students page:deathviaboredom wrote:Yo - does anyone know what the timeline re: merit scholarship looks like? This week we will continue our named scholarship evaluations; formal notifications in that regard will be communicated very soon to the early candidates.
