Nothing in the acceptance letter re: scholarships. At least not when I got my letter ~month ago. They said they'd send out scholarship notifications in mid-February if I remember correctly. I'll go through my KU file when I get home from work to double check that.

No scholarship $ for anyone yet? Looking at LSN from last cycle, it seems like they had started dishing it out by this time.

Then again, it's dirt cheap as is. But still.

Haven't heard anything... But I'll probably withdraw, due to full tuition scholarship at Iowa.

Nope! I received my acceptance in December and really no word since then.

What's with this? Don't they know it's almost March...? I thought WUSTL would be the last school I heard from, but alas, it's KU,

Yeah, we should definitely be notified by now. Honestly, every day that passes without a scholarship offer makes me consider KU a little bit less -- it's hard to stay competitive with other schools when you don't give a reason to be competitive.

I'm actually in Lawrence, so I talked to a few current 1Ls... apparently, they didn't get scholarship notification until the beginning/middleish of March.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for a while, but I finally have something interesting to say. Anyway, I've been in at KU since early December, but just got a scholarship letter in the mail today. I live in Lawrence, so I imagine I'm probably one of the first to get the letter.

I'm finishing an MA at KU, so if people want to know things about the campus or town from a slightly older, married student's point of view, I'd be happy to answer questions.

I'm surprised by their offer to you, but then again, this seems to be par for the course if they aren't considering you for the rice scholarship. It's sort of lame how little they offer outside of that, but then again, it's super cheap if you're in-state.

Yeah, I was hoping I'd be competitive for a Rice scholarship, but I haven't heard anything besides this letter, so I'm guessing that means I'm not. As far as in-state tuition goes, well, KU and I have been arguing about that for a while. It's pretty tough to get residency here if you started out as an out of state student.

What I really wish they'd offer is a guaranteed parking spot near the law school...that would almost be better than scholarship money at KU!

Credited. Although, parking at the catholic center isn't too bad, and the parking pass is reasonably priced.

got my scholarship info today. 12.5k for the first year and 5k for the second pending 2.5 gpa. Has anyone else received their info? Is this typical? Seems like theres barely enough info via LSN to be able to draw a trend. Has anyone heard if KU is open to negotiating for higher values? I've gotten into a few other schools similarly ranked that are offering much more (although overall costs would be higher).

From what I understand, that's a fairly typical offer for someone who isn't a rice scholar candidate. Rice is full ride, but if you were interviewed and didn't make the cut, I believe it's 2/3 (10K a year). What you received may be the next below that. It's kind of lame, but like I said above, it's already so stinking cheap in-state, anyway.

Did anyone else get a letter from the dean to "persuade" them to attend KU? I fear that this might be my substitute for the best persuasion: $$$.

I got the same offer. Coming from out-of-state, this isn't really enough to convert me from a Tiger to a Jayhawk.

Yeah, out of state is a whole different story. 27K/yr = not so great.

yeah I'm an out of state person too and am considering KU for personal reasons as my significant other decided to go there last spring. Although 12k isn't much out of the 27k tuition, some of the other offers I've been getting were in the high teens/low 20s for school where the tuition was 35-40K plus
