In over the weekend via snail mail w/ $9k. Good but not enough to woo me. Hopefully that money will go to some other deserving applicant. I still think they have the coolest basketball court in the whole world.

in today.

5k a year. 169/3.8 --thanks but no thanks. (not to sound entitled, but c'mon, you could have at least thrown me in-state tuition or something)

Accepted today via mail with 9,000/year--withdrew late last week before the mailing got to me (I am out of state) oh, well! love Eugene, but can't really live in Oregon again anyway. Hope someone on here gets the $ I was offered. Good luck, everyone!

Wow...only 5k? That's kind of ridiculous. I'm same gpa and 10 lower on the lsat and got 6k. No rhyme or reason it seems to the schollys.

I have a feeling there's a big geographic element to the scholarship offers: they probably get tons of applicants from Norcal (and of course, Oregon) and need to diversify their "undergraduate institutions represented" criteria.

For those of you getting letters, when did you apply and where are you located?

I applied at the very start of November, but I live on the east coast, just want to know if I should be checking my mailbox in the coming days.

In with $8k, also from NorCal. I applied back in late September/early October.

How difficult is it to get residency?

I applied two weeks ago after getting denied at Lewis and Clark.

I hope you put that in your PS.

If any current students are still "listening", it appears there is a dearth of tax courses from what I can tell. Can you confirm/deny this?

I called the Dean of Students who put me in touch with a professor who informed me there are a great deal of offerings, they just aren't on the course schedule because they rotate which classes will be offered. But, the professor listed off 12 or so courses, so UO is definitely back in with my top choices.

As far as questions you have the knowledge to answer, how do you like the law building? It looks beautiful. Are the classrooms nice/comfortable, or is the best part of the building the exterior?

classrooms are in great condition. good technology, amazing chairs in the library, good chairs in the classes. student lounge needs an upgrade. commons too. neither are terrible. there is a coffee shop on the first floor.

what professor did you speak to? what kind of law are you interested in? you can find everything at oregon. if there is a class you want but they don't have, sometimes they let you take it at the business school for credit. i plan on trying to use this my 2/3L year if i can. oregon has a great sports law business program.

I spoke with Professor Mann. I am interested in tax law. My undergrad is in accounting w/ a specialization in tax issues.

Is it difficult to attain residency status for 2L/3L?

impossible.

my friend married an oregon resident, stayed in oregon for summer, got oregon plates. still no residency. its only a $5,000 difference, so its not a big deal. at least that is their argument.
