I see in your profile that your GPA is 3.0, what is your LSAT if you don't mind me asking? Their median GPA is a 3.56 and their 25th a 3.36, so I feel like your LSAT would have to be pretty high to consider you an auto admit. But I don't know how splitter-friendly they are.

Well above their median/75%. According to LSAC last year out of 37 applicants with GPAs ranging from 2.25-3.24 and LSATs 165-169 they let in 33. That seems to me that anyone with an LSAT within that range and a passable GPA would be admitted fairly easily....

Just how regional is the placement? How hard would it be to find work in Chicago? These may be better questions to ask alums, but was hoping some of you would know.

I'm from Cincinnati originally, and would be fine with staying another 3 years, but don't want to spend the rest of my life there (or in Ohio).

Accepted via email today. My LSAT was lower than their median and this was my top choice so I am extremely excited!

Also accepted via email!!! My boss's son and daughter-in-law are both UC law alums and are doing very well for themselves.

Congrats to bendtheslurry and best of luck to those still waiting!

I know nothing about UCinci's placement, but have heard this about the Chicago market: the Chicago legal market has not rebounded to the extent DC and NYC have so Chitown is MUCH, MUCH more competitive. Given that UC is probably about the 10th - 15th best ranked school in the midwest, I have a feeling that you'll have to be toward the top of your class to get a shot at Chicago. This is just extrapolation from information I've heard about schools like IUB, UIUC, OSU, WUSTL, etc, which probably all have stronger OCI placements than UCinci.

It's very regional! Search some firms' websites in cities you would want to work in for UC Law grads. It will be hard to get out of a 100 mile radius.

Did UC have a status checker? I don't think I ever caught one, but wanted to make sure I didn't miss one.

I got an email that they'd received, but I haven't gotten a status checker.

Yeah, there's no status checker... One day you'll just randomly receive a decision :)

Email comes first, then a couple of different mailings within a few weeks

Cincinnati Law did something very bizzarre to me last night.

They sent me an email asking me where I had applied ED. I replied telling them that I had applied at *** Law School and that the option was non-binding. Then they sent me an email back saying that they wouldn't review my file until I heard back from *** Law School.

I sent a very long email back to them saying that I am already accepted at X and Y Law schools and *** isn't necessarily a top choice at this point. I also told them to quit giving me the runaround and wasting my time.

The peon I was emailing quickly sent an email back saying that she would send my application back to the committee and that I am now UR.

Has anyone else experienced this bullshit?

Exact same thing happened to me. I Applied non-binding ED to SMU and Cincy wouldn't give me a decision. I don't really want to go to SMU anymore i have good scholly offers from better schools. Cincy really pissed me off with this letter it's like they are asking me to withdraw now instead of after i get accepted. Just for that i'm going to make sure to get my acceptance, even if i get waitlisted, and then flip them the bird and withdraw.

I haven't heard anything back from Cincinnati since I went complete earlier this month. Does anybody know how long they usually take to render a decision?

Agreed.

I get why they're doing it. They don't want to send out a bunch of offers and get a high withdrawal rate. That would hurt their position in the almighty USNWR top 100. However, what they're doing to people who've applied ED guarantees withdrawal out of sheer annoyance.

I also got the whole early decision email and I replied right away to tell them I didn't get it. Then yesterday I got another email saying they still need to know. So I replied and asked how long until I get a decision and they said another FOUR WEEKS. I applied in late November. So annoying that they waited so long because of the ED at another school and now are making me wait ANOTHER month. Ugh.
