Got my deferral email while connected to wifi at a beach bar in Mexico-so it was quite alright. Congrats to all who got in via ed, And I hope to see the rest of you at other ASW's. Happy holidays!

Re: Columbia ED Waiting Thread
I wrote a DS and got deferred along w/ most other people on the 23rd. I don't think it could hurt to write one as long as it is succinct. In fact, it might have been the one thing which kept my ED application from being deferred earlier than it was.Kili wrote:Hoping to hear some good news this week!
Just out of curiosity, how many people (whether accepted or deferred) wrote the optional diversity statement?

Sorry if this has been answered already, but I just want to confirm that having been deferred from ED there is little to no chance of being admitted in April?

I wrote one...any fall grades request ppl here back yet? Do you think they wait until the official transcript is in before they give you a decision? Also has anyone called the admissions office recently? its really weird...the recoridng says they open "9 a.m. on the 28th and to call back then..." and no1 answers the recording just keeps on repeating..!

For all of us who'd like to hold onto a sliver of hope:
last year my friend got deferred from ED, waitlisted, and then excepted in June. So it's definitely not impossible (although of course unlikely)!

Did you not get a grades request or anything? If not you'll probably hear today or tomorrow. Also, have you been checking your mail? Some (unfavorable) responses have gone out via regular mail with no corresponding email.masson wrote:Am I the only EDer here who's not received a decision?

Well, you can have a break until April - assuming we got the same deferral letter.shanemahsa wrote:Wow thanks a lot. Now I get to check the mail every day from now until June.Shloime wrote:For all of us who'd like to hold onto a sliver of hope:
