My file just went under review again with the date changing from 11/29 to 1/3. Anybody else experience this?

Yup, some movement I guess is good. I thought today was going to be full of decisions, not a one...TT09 wrote:My file just went under review again with the date changing from 11/29 to 1/3. Anybody else experience this?

Re: St. Louis U. 2011 Applicants
Decision made; letter to be sent shortly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't most admits been via e-mail? I figured I'd get in here, but now I've got doubts.
EDIT: Also, for admits, did your 2nd e-mail change to an slu.edu address?

My status checker was just updated to "Decision made, Letter to follow shortly". Sounds like most of the admits got the same update with an email a day or two after. 160/3.0. I assumed I'd get an acceptance, so I hope I'm right.

I got an email with a scan of my decision letter I believe 2 days after that message popped up.

Same thing for me. I wrote an essay for the 1843 Scholarship, I'm guessing they do that separately from acceptances. My numbers probably won't be competitive for the full ride anyhow. Anyone else on this thread write that essay?EricBerry wrote:My status checker was just updated to "Decision made, Letter to follow shortly". Re: St. Louis U. 2011 Applicants
My status is also now "Decision Made, Letter to follow shortly."
Submitted on 12/20; 164, 3.7; in-state
I checked the box saying I would write that scholarship essay...but I never actually wrote it. Totally slipped my mind. I hope they still let me submit it even though they're done with my application...unless the deadline for that has passed already. Man, I am so not on top of this.

I'm in the same boat. I thought I would receive a follow-up for the essay so that I would have a general idea what to write.ect88 wrote:My status is also now "Decision Made, Letter to follow shortly."

Re: St. Louis U. 2011 Applicants
After I submitted my application, I was sorting through my law school fliers that I've received in the mail since taking the LSAT -- I apparently had overlooked one from SLU that invited me to apply for the scholarship. The topic is something along the lines of "Write about a quote, phrase or saying that is particularly significant to you." I'll try to find it again and give you the exact wording.natedavis333 wrote:I'm in the same boat. If you haven't written the essay, don't worry. I actually didn't even know about it until I got my admit packet and it included a "nomination" to write the essay for the scholly.

"To be considered for the 1843 Scholars program you will need to:
1. Complete the admission process for the School of Law- the application is available online at: law.slu.edu or through LSAC; and
2. Compose an essay of 500 words or less describing the meaning of a phrase, quote or passage of your choice that is significant to you.
In order to receive full consideration for admission and the 1843 Scholars program, your completed application file and essay response must be received no later than February 12, 2011. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Admissions Office at (314) 977-2800 or reply to this message via e-mail."
Here is the e-mail I got. It looks like you guys still have time, which makes me wonder if they wait until February to make a decision about scholarships. 500 words kind of made the essay hard for me, basically had to trim it over and over. Again, I doubt I'm going to be that competitive for this, for some reason I was under the impression that only 5 people got it. Anyone know anything about that?

"1843 Scholars
The School of Law at Saint Louis University was founded in 1843 when there were fewer than 20 law schools in the nation. To commemorate the significance of that year, the School of Law established the 1843 Scholars program. This scholarship rewards a small group of students for their outstanding academic achievements. The program awards 10 full-tuition scholarships to incoming students for three years, and includes annual increases in tuition."
Twice as much hope for you now!

Exact same reaction as this guy, except instead of 3 Trojan Triphoria's its 10 full ride spots. Although I'm still skeptical. Good luck ect88, we have really similar numbers. You going for WashU as well?

And thanks! Much luck to you as well. I didn't apply to WashU...I've toured there before and I just felt really uncomfortable there. I don't really know how to explain it. Just one of those strong reactions. Much like when I visited Mizzou when considering undergrad and just absolutely fell in love with the place. I'm really happy I spent four years here, so I trust those gut reactions.

Your status checker will explicitly say when a decision has been made. But they seem to be turning around some pretty quick decisions, so good luck!stintez wrote:The only thing mine says is File complete as of 12/13 does that mean they have made there decision or what?

Totally agree that you have to go with your gut. Its funny how a school can give you either a really good or bad vibe within fifteen minutes of visiting. I have yet to visit SLU or WashU so I probably need to get going on that.ect88 wrote:Just one of those strong reactions.
