There are no due dates on mine. I have a feeling the $500 is listed on everyones...tease.

Are you guys mostly from the la area? I'm from ny, and if accepted I am most definitely going to make the move, but only know 2 ppl in la. Not that law school is about going out and having fun, but was interested to see if there are others that don't really know too many people out there.

I'm from NY, too. I definitely want out of NY, but with the prospects in Cali, they're gonna have to give me some money for me to make the move.RAB wrote:Are you guys mostly from the la area? Edit: also do not know anyone out in Cali. Do have an uncle in Tahoe and an Aunt in Vegas, though. No really close with either.

I'm just south of you, from NJ, and I don't know anyone in CA. I'm going to a CA school definitely (just depends on which and the money), but I'm not bothered by the fact I won't know anyone.

What's the highest debt you're willing to take yearly to move out West, my three fellow East Coasters?

Re: Southwestern 2011
I'm from an hour south of la but have a few friends in some of the la area law schools and every like week or so they have what they call "bar reviews" and its basically a pun on words and its a party at a local bar or club for all the law schools in the la area (usc, ucla, loyola, southwestern) and its really fun cause it gives you a chance to meet a bunch of different people and get exposed to some of the different bars/clubs in the area. so no worries if you don't know anyone, law students def have their fair share of fun as wellRAB wrote:Are you guys mostly from the la area? Re: Southwestern 2011
May as well add my 2 cents here as too, since I'm also from NY. I have friends and family in the region, so attending law school in southern California is an appealing prospect for me. I've applied to USD, Loyola, and Southwestern, and rather broadly across the nation. For me, it will simply come down to weighing the various options I have at the end of the cycle.MrMisiu wrote:What's the highest debt you're willing to take yearly to move out West, my three fellow East Coasters?
Out of all the So-Cal schools I've applied to thus far, I think Southwestern would be the most comfortable situation for me socially and personally. I have an aunt who attended Southwestern, and she speaks very highly of the school, so my interest is pretty significant.

Not really sure...I did apply full-time, but now I'm thinking I may want to do the first year part-time, so I can work. I've been out of college for two years now, so I've been able to save, but its also nice to get a paycheck every two weeks. Do you think its too late to be considered for part-time instead of full-time?MrMisiu wrote:What's the highest debt you're willing to take yearly to move out West, my three fellow East Coasters?

I'm from NY also and will be moving to California for the fall semester. Southwestern is my #1 choice, but I'll be going to Chapman if I don't get in.RAB wrote:Are you guys mostly from the la area?
