3.4/167 OOS applicant here.

I am really hoping I get an acceptance to UK as it is a top choice for me.

If its the same thing as I got. Its not really a wait list. In my opinion its similar to just putting your application at the back of the application pile - they are going to look at it again at a later date and make a decision, not exactly wait listed (Yours may be different than mine). The letter I received gave a specific date that they would review my application again and make a decision.

That is my interpretation as well.

I've been accepted into both UK and Louisville OOS. What do those who are from Kentucky and/or know the legal market think about taking money from Louisville over going to UK at sticker?

Received my Feb. 7th review letter today. UK is my number one choice, so I hope this isn't just another nice way to say waitlist. They also recommended that I add addenda to my file.

Congratulations! Although, I am jealous. I'm in-state and my numbers aren't nearly as flattering. Hopefully my soft factors will carry me through. I was placed on hold, waiting to be reviewed again in February.

So is UK's curve a 3.0 or 2.8? I've heard conflicting reports. Anyways, I'm still waiting to hear from a few schools but there's a better than 50/50 chance that I'll be in Lexington next fall and I'm very pumped. I've spent a lot of time at UK and I love the school and area. I suppose the basketball team will have to grow on me. When is the best time to start looking for housing? I want to get a house within walking distance to the law school (if anyone else is looking for a house, shoot me a PM).

PS: What is the incentive for a school to use a sub-3.0 curve?

Man, I thought I was going to get a decision today, because last Thursday, the status checker said, "File Pending for Decision" with today's date. But today, my status is just Under Review. [/Debbie Downer music]

eta:
But it also says a status letter was mailed today. Status letter? That sounds much less exciting than Decision letter.

Curves to a 3.0.

I'm a current 1L if any of you have questions. For what it's worth, my permanent home is 500 miles away and I didn't move until two days before orientation, but I put down a deposit on my place in late June. Dean Bakert sent out a lot of materials once I accepted which helped figure me the logistical stuff out.

So what's the parking situation around the law school? Do you have to live within walking distance to avoid driving to school an hour early and walking 2 miles to class?

No, I have a parking pass for a big parking garage down the street and I live about five miles out. There's a fair number of commuters, and honestly, for mental health purposes it's great to be at least a little bit away from campus. From my lot it takes about...I dunno, 7 minutes to walk down the street? I walk fast, might be more/less for other people. Still, not bad. There's another UK lot about a block further up.

Parking around Lex can be a cluster until you find your bearings. Once you figure out how the roads connect (this happens a lot faster if you're commuting), you find parking spots more easily...at least, that's been my experience.

My status has changed, it now says a decision letter has been sent. There is no info where the seat deposit information normally is...is this a reject?

No, but on the 28th I received some basic scholarship and financial aid information that was dated on the 21st. Strangely enough, it said that scholarships were coming out the very week that I received the mail. It seems they may be running behind schedule.

As far as speed of delivery, I do live in Lexington, so the letter didn't have to go 'cross country or anything
