I'll take it as it comes. Honestly, at this point, I just want my grades. I think OU may be the last law school to release grades to 1Ls.

Yeah, OU does its students no favors releasing grades so late in the game, but they don't exactly seem interested in placing people in firms, so it is what it is. I think SMU released its 1L grades in February last year. Yikes.

IIRC, the admissions committee meets separately from the scholarship committee, and not as often. That said, I think I received scholarship information within a month of acceptance. A short, polite email to Susan Wilson might yield some info. If you're still in consideration for scholarships, she'll likely be able to give you an ETA for a decision. If you're not, you'll know for sure.

Yea I'm beginning to get a little worried I might not receive anything but both my numbers are at the 75th or higher so I would think should receive something. I'll give them a little more time with the holidays and everything.

Received my scholarship info today.
5,000 a year as long as I remain in good standing
not as much as I was hoping for. I would probably need more to really consider going to OU.
It also asks to respond with a decision regarding acceptance by Feb 18th if possible. Did any one else's scholarship information say something about this?

There was a similar deadline on mine last year. I called and explained that I didn't want to commit to a school until I heard back from everyone about acceptances and scholarships (obviously). We established and re-established the "deadline" several times.
I think many OU applicants only apply to the in-state schools, and OU is their top choice, so they know right away whether they will be accepting or not. However, is it not very practical for someone applying to out-of-state or higher ranked schools (that you don't hear from until March or April), and the scholarship committee understands that.

Yea I just plan on sending them an email a week or so before the deadline basically stated the reasons cited above. I don't think they view it as much of a "deadline". They most likely feel if it causes many people at all to accept or withdraw earlier than they normally would than it is a success.

In with the out of state tuition waiver. The waiver had a deadline too, but it was much earlier than Feb 18. It was like January 24 or somewhere around there.

Did your scholarship actually waive the out of state fees? Mine said the scholarship would terminate if I gained residency status and just pay the lower tuition.

This is how the OOS waiver portion of my scholarship was structured. Makes sense, really. If you gain residency, you no longer need the waiver. You do not continue to receive the OOS tuition waiver value in scholarships. Though that would be sweet.
Also, a word to those considering OU and banking on gaining residency after the first year: it's very, very tough to do. A friend of mine went through hell and back to get residency. She ended up having to get a letter from her employer guaranteeing full-time employment after she graduated before they would give her in-state tuition.

Yeah I think mine basically said the same thing about it terminating if I gain residency. I hadn't planned on gaining residency so I was ok with that. Maybe I didn't read mine right though. Is it some kind of racket where it's only for the first year and they expect you to try and gain residency after that or what?

Not in my case. I didn't even think about applying for residency. The only stipulation I had with my scholarship was to maintain good standing (C average or something like that). It renews every year without question if you can meet that (fairly low) hurdle. In any event, if I wasn't able to get Cs or better, I was going to drop out anyway...

I'm OOS as well and got 6k for the first year. Does the scholly letter specifically state that it is renewable after each year if you remain in good standing? Bc mine doesn't. I would seriously consider OU if that were the case though.

If I understood it correctly, it was renewable every year as long as I remain in good standing.
