Without seeing the scholarship letter itself, I can't do any more than guess that your OOS scholarship will be renewable, but the extra $6k is not. Again, this is totally a guess based solely on anecdotes from other students and my personal experience.

If in doubt, call OU and ask.

Just a reminder for OOS-ers: Please, please consider the strength of your ties to the state of Oklahoma. They will be paramount when trying to find summer work (and, subsequently, full time work). Specifically, don't come to OU assuming the degree automatically travels to Dallas, Kansas City, Little Rock, etc. Those markets are difficult for the absolute top students in the class to break into. Not at all impossible, but I implore you to at least consider the odds.

For the OOS that received scholarships, is your scholarship waiving the extra out of state fees plus the scholarship you received? That is how some people are making it sound and I'm unsure whether mine is the same or just the 5,000 per year.

Sorry if I was unclear earlier. I am OOS and will pay out of state tuition. The scholarship amt I received was just the 6,000 for first year. And it sounds like first year only.

Sounds like YP. You should write a strong letter of interest.

This. More than one of my current classmates were in the same predicament and were admitted the day their LOCI hit the admissions office. Don't do it if you're not serious, though.

When was the deadline to accept if you received a scholarship? I remember it being very early, but can't look it up because the admissions office has been emailing all my info to my permanent address and not my mailing address. I also got an email from them last week saying that my admissions packet, that I had thought I received two months ago, was just now in the mail due to snow storms. Confused.

They're flexible about extending your deadline if you need it. I was pretty frank with their admissions about how I may wait this cycle out, and they'll keep extending the deadline so long as I keep them updated.

I missed a call from them two weeks back but I've since called back twice and left a message. Maybe I should call someone else, or try again..?

Received an acceptance phone call today - thought it odd given that it's a Sunday but I'm not complaining!
I submitted my app on 1/29 and my status checker still indicates "pending review".

Same here. OU was a huge, huge reach for me. (159/2.4) The Sunday phone call was so unexpected and left me speechless.

Well it might come down to your personal preference of geographic location. Both will limit where you can work afterward. I went to OU for UG so if you have any questions about campus/culture/Norman/etc. then feel free to ask

FTFM. If you're not from Denver, and want to end up practicing in Denver, I wouldn't suggest coming to OU. Several of my classmates and those who just graduated have found/are finding this out the hard way.
